  1. Not unless you consider pushing it a few feet a test drive.. I haven't gotten any work done on it yet aside from making it "compliant" with city vehicle code. I'll be doing some work on it after it gets warmed up. Have some bigger things I need to take care of first, big one is fix the transmission on the Journey.
  2. The outer vent just comes off with those tree clips like mentioned above. For the inner vent you will need the bottom to come out first, then it pulls down and out. Removal Steps - slide the entire unit up as high as possible - pull the bottom, you may need a flathead to help get under it but don't pry hard. Squeezing the sides inwards can help also - once bottom releases, the sides should follow. - pull down and out To reinstall - slot the top in first - snap bottom and sides into place. Here are photos for reference. The big lugs are at the top, little ramps on sides and bottom.
  3. This is correct, I do have rebuild kits pretty close to done for the factory switches. These include new switch faces and trims. As mentioned I am quite busy with other stuff and just haven't gotten them wrapped up yet but they will be available rather soon.
  4. Neve is definitely one of the best looking themes available!
  5. The website can be found at zimmdakindustries.com I have been working on this for quite a while to have a central place for the 3D printing products I make and on Jan 1st I finally made it public. All my products and services are listed there with links to eBay for purchasing. Any orders and communication from a Comanche Club member will still be done through messaging so ignore the forms and eBay links and just message me directly. Over the last year the 3D printing has quickly changed from a hobby to a business and I've been doing a lot of stuff on the back end so product releases have been rather slow the last few months. I've got a big project I'm working on for a business back in my hometown as well as a couple bigger Jeep related products in the works right now. I'm planning on the product releases to start to ramp up in the coming months so keep an eye out! Thank you to the club for being a large part of this, I'm loving doing it and don't plan to stop anytime soon!
  6. definitely the best place on the internet!
  7. I'm guessing you are attempting the same rabbit hole I did. That's about the only option I could find as well and believe me their quality is pretty terrible, not something I'd put in a product.
  8. For reference here is the red truck. The airdam on it is off of #7, which unfortunately met the junkyard and probably crusher a while back. I painted it black, which ironically matches #96 so I suppose it was a sign. It just looks damn good on the red truck.
  9. After 8 months I finally have the title and plates in hand!! My plan is this spring/summer to work on the motor and get it to at least run and maybe go as far as move under its own power. I will slowly pick away at fixing it up but I am in no hurry at all, I've got other projects I want to put ahead of this and I am trying to free up some space and funds so if anyone is seriously interested in buying it shoot me a message as I am willing to sell it as is now or at any point in the future. I will only sell this to someone who actually knows what it is and plans on restoring it so keep that in mind. Next question is, do I leave the airdam on my red truck or pull it off to go with #96? I'm leaning towards pulling it off to pair with #96 and using the S10 airdams I've got to make something for the red truck. The big resistance point I have is that #96 needs a bunch of work and the red truck built to be a repro/mod street MJ is essentially done. I need to make up my mind though because the red truck is going up for sale..
  10. Is there a state close to you that does bonded titles? I just went through that process here in Iowa. All you need is a mailing address in that state for the owner of the truck, a bill of sale, some pictures of the truck, and purchase a bond. For a length of time someone with a title can say it's their truck but if you believe you rightfully own it you can go through the process. I would offer to do it for you in Iowa but I would have to put my name on it and it would put me liable for everything for the next 3 years even if I signed the title over to you so I would recommend you to look at states nearby that you could get a PO box and do it all in your name.
  11. Lenses and housings are headed my way for development of repro housings. Will take some time but they are coming!
  12. Still waiting on the title. The state finally sent me the bond form this week and I got the bond taken care of and sent back so I should have a title soon. About a month ago the city code guy decided to make a trip down our alleyway behind my shop and sent me a letter saying I have to put the truck in a building or get it reassembled and tags on it because it violates the junk vehicle ordinance. Why he ever drove back there in the first place is beyond me, only my neighbor and I use the alleyway and its not visible unless you are directly behind my shop. There is an old lady down the street from us though that thinks she is vigilantly code and law enforcement so she may have decided to make a trip down there and reported it. I put the front end on it so its complete but I can't really do much about tags until the state finishes everything on their end. I told the code guy I could swap it for my red truck but its the same make and model so the only difference is paint color and a plate and thus pointless. I told him it doesn't make sense to put the more valuable truck outside and if I had to do that I would put a cover on the red truck so I might as well just put a cover over the street MJ instead. With that logic he gave me an extension and said we will revisit where I am at with the tags on January 15th. Either way its just a stupid case. At this point I'm about to put the plates from my red truck on it so he can shove the case up his....
  13. The housing is on my list, I just need a broken or disassembled tail light to model from. I don't want to be taking apart perfectly good ones.
  14. It's just the way a lot of people are these days. I have it happen with people of all ages. The ones that actually show up to buy stuff though tend to be really nice, down to earth people. I try to avoid buying stuff from Craigslist or marketplace unless something is a really good deal or I can only find it used on those platforms. For the stuff I make and sell I stick to eBay mostly as they can buy and pay immediately. On a few occasions I've had people cancel and reorder due to a wrong address or payment info but otherwise it's super smooth there. I don't have time to keep up with people's antics on Facebook or similar so I just don't list there, however I'm expanding and bringing some help on board at the start of the year so they can do all the social media and direct sales stuff so I don't have to deal with it.
  15. Finally they are here, they have only been requested 100 times I think lol.
  16. I don't have the equipment to cast and at this scale, sand casting would offer less detail than the plastic model would have. And true diecasting is just not really possible at home. I could possibly cast them out of resin but at that point it would make more sense to buy a resin printer to get the high detail on such a small model. They will still look good on the FDM printer, so far I've been pretty pleased with the test prints.
  17. I am working on a truck model in 1:64 scale and will probably scale it up and make larger ones available with more detail. At the typical 1:64 diecast scale it's hard to get much detail on an FDM printer. I may also make an SUV version but haven't decided yet. Just as a note, Jeep XJs are currently available in diecast.
  18. Sorry I didn't see this until now, I'm not getting notifications for some reason. Anyhow if you are serious about making this a kit I can easily make you gaskets to bundle with it. I have a polyurethane material that I can print with that is ideal for gaskets. I'll shoot you a PM to work out details.
  19. Absolutely 100% the most useful vehicle is a minivan. We have an 18 Grand Caravan and couldn't function without it most of the time. It's even too small sometimes to fit everything in.
  20. Definitely. Ha yeah that's what I get for being to lazy to clean up the pipes but she'll hold!
  21. More stuff got done today. - exhaust is done - rust hole covered by the intake with a plastic dealer plate - oil changed - fluids topped off - rear seat reinstalled - rearview mirror installed - oil pressure gauge feed line ran into a dash panel to protect it - windshield wiped down, plastic polish will be here in a few days so I can really clean it up - vacuumed it out - beat the passenger side A-pillar out and flatted the roof in that area more so it is more even This is a better shot of how I attached the two halves of the XJ front end together. It's a piece of the center section I cut out, with a two part epoxy and bolts going through it. Did the same to the bottom. It just looks so much better now.
  22. I've been getting a lot of stuff done on it over the last couple weekends. - installed the tie rod sleeve to complete the front suspension/steering - solidly attached the two halves and mounted the front end - got marker lights and light trim piece for the passenger side - remounted the upper core support - installed some hood pins - removed most of the intake tubing so it's now just drawing underhood air, eventually I need to make a proper intake but it has no restrictions or pointless pieces/turns on it now - reinstalled the fenders and flared them out to clear the tires and added plates to fill in the sides of the front end - installed some cheap golf cart side mirrors - got a truck mudflap and cut it in half to make a set - used some angle to make brackets for the mudflaps and painted lower rear end with some bed liner because I had no other black paint Overall it's looking much better and more complete. The front end is a little wider on the passenger side due to it being crushed so bad but still looks better than it did. I wish the mudflaps were closer to the body but still looks decent and is a few steps closer to street legal now. What I have left to do before taking it back to the farm for a while: - fix and install exhaust - make a plate to cover a rust hole right below the intake location - get a new air filter - change the oil - fill the front diff - top off tranny fluid - put the rear seat back in it - glue the passenger rear light lens back on and glue the inner light housing pieces in place so it works correctly - reinstall rearview mirror - make some kind of spacer for the oil pressure gauge feed line so it's not pinched by the windshield - clean and reinstall the windshield - vacuum all the grass and sticks out Ultimately the goal right now is to get the tools I need by next spring and be doing a cage next year. Once it's caged I plan on getting a Wrangler windshield frame to weld into the cage so I can run safety glass and officially it would then pass all requirements to be street legal as far as I can find.
  23. This is on the list yes, I haven't started any design on it yet tho. Gotta find some time 2 of my trucks can be down with the interiors torn apart for measurements. Unless anyone has a 97+ console they'd let me borrow or buy for cheap!
  24. Thanks! I've got a napa here in town so when it's time I'll swing over there.
