  1. Thanks Don, I had all that info until my puter crashed a couple days ago. Wasn't able to find or recover anything so I went
  2. Is there a site where you can check up on old buddies? I would like to check up on some old buddies from the 1st Mar Div, RVN DaNang, 1969-70, I know there is.I just can't remember where.
  3. I would just fix and use the one you have. That said , you can't beat a warn. There's nothing more frustrating than running out 100 ft of cable. Getting the snatch block hooked up hitting the in on the controller and getting greeted by a cloud of smoke from the winch motor, or hitting the in button and when the winch has reeled in all the slack and starts pulling, it just grunts with no action.
  4. Back in the late forties, early fifties one of the most popular selling bike kits was a Schwin bike, sold new for $49.95 with a Whizzer motor for an additional $149.95. I think I still have mine someplace. Have to make a point to go look.
  5. Wanting to see a reply to this. Got the exact same Jeep with exact same problem. Without the starter, flywheel problem.
  6. How about a removable top with fold down windshield and and adequate frame reinforcement?
  7. There was more than one style bracket for those. Do you have a pic of what you nedd?
  8. In stock form, I have found nothing that will out climb or out mud a M37.
  9. Not even gonna try on this one.
  10. Or just place a on-off switch under the dash, seat,,,
  11. Getting parts for a XJ, MJ or any Jeep is about the simplest thing in the world. Unless you live on an island in the middle of the ocean. Buy it. Try it. go from there. Parts are plentiful and the comancheclub.com has some very knowledgeable and friendly help.
  12. I've always used Big A , both their rebuild kits and rebuilt assemblies with no problem. NAPA is also a good choice.
  13. Yes. All have hail damage. Some have rust but nothing like yours. Many years ago I learned the trick of removing hail dents with a torch and wet cloth. Been thinking about trying it and seeing if I can still do it. So far just been too disgusted to mess with them.
  14. So it appears you don't want it that bad then huh? :dunno: Bingo!
  15. I'm making a firm offer of $75 for it. That offer is based on how bad I want it. Not on what it's worth.
  16. I WANT! ! Darn. Nearest dealer is in Denver, 130 miles. Not to far to go look.
  17. I have a J20 for heavy loads. The MJ is just basic, reliable transportation.
  18. The 2.5 is a long way from being gutless, or under powered. I have a 2.5 in my DD, a '87 MJ, AX4 and it gets me down the road at 75, and sometimes a little over, No I don't pull a horse trailer or 40 foot camper with it. I have a J20 for that.
  19. Swap the clutch and go.
  20. Lots 'of people with boats mount a receiver hitch on the front of their trucks so they can drive forward while loading, unloading their boat.
  21. I'll take it. Need something for the Demo Derby this week end.
  22. Anything can be done but sometimes the question begs to be asked, "Why?" You want a 4.0 in a MJ, buy one. There's enough of them already out there. Just saying.
  23. Don. Since it's no longer pertinent could you please delete the above post? Have to be a little faster next time. J
  24. Sounds like the trip I wanted to make. In 1970 I was working in 'Nam. Was attached to the 1st Mar Div in DaNang for support. Had a 1970 Honda 450. Not my first choice. The only choice. Made it down to Saigon once on the bike. Toured as much of the country as I could but at that time was not the best place for an American tourist on a bike. Always wanted to go back and do it when things settled down. Waited to long.
