1954 was the first year Willys came out with a 6 cylinder engine so that one is a swap. In my opinion $2500 is a bit much for it from the description you gave. There is a fully restored 1952 Willys P/U for sale 20 miles from here. Fellas asking $2500 for it. There is 3 unrestored P/U within 20 miles of me all going for $500, or less. Check the Pueblo and Colorado Springs Craigs List.

snow plow question
jimoshel replied to STERLING STINGER's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
There shouldn't be that much difference between a '88 and a '92. Just swap everything over. Besides, using a '92 MJ for a snowplow is sacrilege. I got a '75 and a '77 J20 with a Meyers already hooked up. Swap ya straight across, your choice, for your 92MJ. -
Goat meat is similar to Deer meat. If it's dressed properly it's very tasty. If it isn't dressed right it it's only fit for dog food. And they do make good weed mowers. And you can't beat goat cheese for flavor.

How common is red interior?
jimoshel replied to 89 shortbed's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Got a '86 with Red paint and Red interior. Plaid bench seat. -
That's the info I was looking for. Thnx F. T. Dog. In the last year I have had 10-12 XJ and Grand Cherokees come into the yard. If it had a 4.0-AW4 combo then it was wrecked, but with a good running power train. One exception. The engine blew a rod . Of the WJ's one was wrecked, good power train. All the others. the tranny was bad but with good engines. Just wondering if anyone else noticed this or what? I still say the 42-44-46 series trans are the automatic version of the BA10.

It did have, until Pete left it at my house one night.

Just checked. They are on the same side. The right. I felt sure that if it could be done, somebody has already done it. Guess I'm just gonna have to hook the winch up and try it myself. Got half a dozen AW4'S out but all the V8'S are still in a vehicle.

I know this has been asked a 100 times and maybe, or maybe not, done. Will a Chrysler 5.2,5.7 bolt up to a AW4 transmission? Tried search with negative results. I am NOT asking about the strength of the AW4. I am NOT asking about TCU'S, sensors, speedo adapters, etc. I am only asking about physically bolting them together.

Got to remember. Some of us weren't here last go around. A pic would be nice. Do the long sleeve T-Shirt go to the wrist or end above the elbow? Don't have PP. Accept PC?

[quote PS - whats a 'yeti' footprint? Yeti. A as yet a unconfirmed animal beast, very hairy and looks like a cross between a homo sapien and a ape. The scientists and news madia are having so much fun with the concept that I hate to spoil it for them by revealing the fact that it's just my sister trying to mate. Where's Sam when he's needed?

Don't know why yer blaming the Triker for. It's a scientific proven fact that rare bright yellow vehicles with bright red rear lights are the hardest things in the world to see. :shake:

86' XLS Comanche Questions
jimoshel replied to Comanche County's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
- Is the switch on the right side of the steering column pictured below the factory switch for the roll bar lights? Yes, it is. Neither the '86 owners manual or the FSM shows that switch but the '87 up does. It was either a late '86 factory or swapped in by a PO. -
upper control are bushings

Option 2 involves a torch, but stinks really bad... YEP! But it works. -
Just a wild guess but check the exhaust, See if the Cats clogged.

If the XJ is complete you shouldn't have to buy anything except maybe new oil, air and transmission filters and fluids..

96 XJ Fuel Line Question
jimoshel replied to Drahcir495's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
:agree: That's my guess also. But it sure ain't factory issue. -
I use different approaches including Brandons. I prefer talking to the owner over leaving a note. Once I spotted a MJ sitting at the curb, obviously hadn't been drove in a while and was being used as a dumpster. Lady wasn't interested in selling. I would stop by about once a month and check it out. After a year of this I called the city and asked why a junk vehicle was allowed to sit on the curb in violation of the cities trash, litter and inop vehicle ordinances. 2 days later she called me wanting to know if I still wanted it. Ended up buying the MJ and a wrecked '98 XJ sport she had in the back yard for $450 dollars. What really bugs me is some one has a junker and they would give it to some body just to get rid of it, but when you ask them about it, it suddenly becomes a family treasure, rare antique etc, and they ask 10-20 times what it's worth.

Ever notice that air cooled engines are more likely to have a oil temp gauge than a liquid cooled ones? Not really sure if they do or not but the discussion was slowing down so just stirring it up a little.

Last Sat was working with Daisy, putting the second ride on her. Don't know what spooked her but she reared and came over backwards. I got clear before she hit the ground but she rolled over on me. Got home from the legal torture chamber, hospital, this morning. Broken left wrist, 3 cracked ribs, bruised kidney and a swollen face my mother wouldn't recognize. Pic is of her first ride, which went quite smoothly, probably making me a bit over confident. I'm getting to old for this chit. Image Not Found

You're not going to beat the 5.2- 5.7 engines for reliability. The transmissions 42, 44 and 46 series are IMHO junk.
