  1. I believe that friends should help friends. After all, that's what friends are for. Rob. I can be there tomorrow night with a truck and trailer. If you can get someone to help load would be nice but not necessary. Get some much needed room back. Yes, it will require some sacrifice and create a little hardship on my part but I won't mind. Jim :D
  2. A simple check. Remove the air intake hose from the top of the carb. Do this while the engine is cold, before you start it. Look down into the carb bore. The choke plate should be closed. Now start the engine. The plate should open. Depending on the outside air temperature will affect how much the plate opens. If it's warm out and the engine gets warm it should be fully open. Also , there's a timer in the circuit. After so many hours it kicks in and does something to the carb. Don't remember what. Have to look it up. Also check the EGR valve. If it's not working properly it has some of the same symptoms as a bad choke. Auto Zone has some pretty good repair guides on it's site. Look up AutoZone. Register, type in the vehicle info and see what it comes up with.
  3. You will have either a E2SE for LaLa Land or a 2SE for the other 49 and Canada. There should be a tag on the carb.
  4. How hard would it be to convert to a rear sump? Or even a remote sump?Obviously a custom fabricated pan but how about the oil pump and pick up?

    Magazines

Was at the bookstore tonight and was overwhelmed by the selection offered. Bought a half dozen and left. Question. What are your favorite mags? Or let's put it another way. If you could only subscribe to two Off road Jeeper type mags what would they be? No Hot Rod, Rod &Custom, etc. Just off roading. I think Petersons 4WD would be one of my top choices. From there not sure. :dunno:
  6. El Jimbo's version. The difference between a man and a boy is the size of his GF's bo,,,, er,,chest adornments. :D
  7. Would like to try that. Somebody got a 5cyl Chevy they'll loan (give) me? Promise. I'll give it back when I'm thru with it. :D
  8. I had a '89 2.5 do the exact same thing, same symptoms. It was the CPS. Been running great since I replaced it. Also when checked individually, it checked good.
  9. Well now if you had a mare droppin a colt I could help ya. But a female woman giving birth I know absolutely nothin. Good luck. Hope everything, everything?, comes out OK. El Jimbo
  10. Is he sure about calling 911? That's an emergency number. Some places will be nice and switch you to what you want. Others will scream at you threatening you with arrest for improper use of an emergency number. Have had personal experience with both.
  11. As long as we're discussing Harlem auto enthusiasts. AP Wire -- Raleigh, NC Jeff Gordon announced today that he was firing his entire pit crew. This announcement followed Gordon's decision to take advantage of President Obama's scheme to employ Harlem youngsters. The decision to hire them was brought about by a recent documentary on how unemployed youths from Harlem were able to remove a set of wheels in less than 6 seconds without proper equipment, whereas Gordon's existing crew could only do it in 8 seconds with thousands of dollars’ worth of high tech equipment. It was thought to be an excellent and bold move by Gordon's management team, as many races are won or lost in the pits. However, Gordon got more than he bargained for. At the crew's first practice session, not only was the inexperienced crew able to change all 4 wheels in under 6 seconds, but within 9 seconds they had changed the paint scheme, altered the VIN number, and sold the car to Dale Earnhardt Jr. for 10 cases of Bud, a bag of weed, and some photos of Jeff Gordon's wife in the shower.
  12. At this point you pretty much need a wiring diagram. I don't like Chilton but it's better than nothing. Also check some of the auto parts stores. Auto Zone, O'Reillys etc. They have diagrams you can download and print.
  13. Is there voltage going into the IGN Module? If there is then it is bad. If there isn't then start at the ign sw and see where you're losing it.
  14. How about making a couple tests and narrowing it down a bit? Pull the wire going from the ign coil to the distributer cap. Hold the end removed from the cap 1/4-3/8 of an inch from the block. Have someone turn the engine over. Is there spark? Remove the cap from the bleeder valve on the fuel rail. Depress the core. Is there any fuel? Remove the fuel line from the fuel rail. Turn the key on. Gas should shoot out.
  15. 1.A loose flywheel will make more of a 'thud' than a 'tick' and then only when changing engine revs. 2. Rare, but yes. Usually you can hear exhaust leak also. 3. Lifter will have a sharper tick than piston. A stethescope will also help here.
  16. Don't need no power back up here. No matter how dark, I can find the JD. :D
  17. Why not? or,,you got that right. Been talking to a guy about his '91 Eliminator. If I can get him down a couple hundred it'll make my 15th. To the best of my knowledge that will leave only 2 MJ'S in Pueblo county not in my yard.
  18. Quite frankly the only problem I see is the garage is to small.

    DO WANT:

Didn't think it was worth the money and he wouldn't budge on price.
  20. She's going to give ya a shovel and tell you to level out that pile of dirt. :rotf:
  21. Out of curiosity I went thru my stock pile. Found a 242AMC. What's different, if anything, between it and a regular 242? :dunno:
  22. It's a lot funnier if you've never personally gone thru an experience like that. :ack:
