All of the above. Also- this may sound stupid- make sure all the bulbs are CORRECT. I had a turn signal issue similar to yours, replaced my sockets, cleaned the grounds, etc- turned out one bulb was wrong for the application. It worked, it just caused the issues (I thank the PO for that one).

I look forward to reading that! I need to do mine- bodyguy missed them when I got the paintwork done. So I get to try it myself. Are those the tires you plan on running? Because they are pretty old at this point (I believe the 'Radial' was dropped in 02 or 03).

LS swap questions- yes, another one.

After looking at that... I think I may just stay with a 4-liter. Slow and 'reliable'. -
Junkyarding today. Needs/ideas?

What did you pay for seats and console? I'm trying to work a deal with a guy that has a 91xj for the buckets and console. For the console and passenger seat I payed 70 dollars. -

What else would you guys recommend? I doubt any OHC engines would fit. Windsor base? full HO swap and M90? TDI? -

Doing research of engine swaps for if/when my 5psi-oil pressure 4.0 fails. I know 4.0's swap in (and wouldnt be bad), but I wouldnt mind a 5.3 for power boost. I've seen how to do the mounts, exhaust, etc, but still have questions. -What do people do for gauges on the early-era? I assume fuel/volts needs little t no modifivations, and the oil/water can be adapted as well for the stock cluster. Novak has an adaptor for the 4L60 to run a mechanical speedo- but what about the tach? -Any HVAC things to worry about? or just change to the Delco compressor, or hook up to the OE condensor and whatnot? -Any issues keeping the column shift? -Does the stock hood work? Many I see run a cowl hood or cut a hole. Id like to keep it stock appearing (And -gasp- 2wd), but 12/13 second capable. -Electronics. What stays from the stock Renix wiring, what goes, what stays working or stays but not connected? -

They are hard to find- went to 3 yards. one had 2, but were stripped of anything good. The last one has one that was 100% complete, and scheduled to be crushed 2 days earlier. Got my seats and console from that one. -
Eesh- I'm trying to find somebody to take my Jeep from Atlanta to NY, cheapest is 1100
-
That could be arranged... Ill just send both to you at once

So fix the 171 and let this sit on a shelf until I do what my uncle did and pass it along to another family member- got it! haha
-
Interesting- is it worth doing anything with? I have a 171 that I was going to send to you, but I will say this looks cooler.

I was given this radio over the weekend- I know it is from an AMC-era something or other, but what? Looks like at least late-70s, if not 80's. Any ideas? Not sure if theres any way to get it to work in an MJ though!

Price aside.... (JCR Manche Roof Rack)

Hell, I just bought another rust-free MJ for that money! -
Why BoF? Expand your thinking. Look at Roadkill's Vette-kart. Could do the same with a foxbody mustang. Light, and potentially V8 power

The front sockets are most likely grounding out- there is a replacement, but I cannot recall the part number off the top of my head. most NAPAs carry it. -
Has anyone swapped in seats from a YJ or TJ? Figure MJ brackets would be needed, but has anyone done it? Plus they fold forward.

An 87 with original 63K miles
RustyRodder replied to coolwind57's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
I wonder if they had a system the wanted to install, and then took it out? It happens- my uncles did that through the 90s, the same head unit had been in like 8 different cars. -
Old ones can be cool- My chevelle was sold new by a local dealer, then used by one in PA. Couldnt find the local dealers frame (went out of business 30 years ago), so it has the Yenko Chevrolet frame instead. My DD has a dealer frame, since it has my family name it. All the other cars- blank frames.

I may end up resorting to this! passenger side isnt bad, but the drivers side is horrid. Really don't want to drive 3,000 miles like that.

Its not so much sagging, its @$$-to-spring. one of the PO's must have been a rotund fellow.

Any suggestions on reupholstering the factory bench seats? I found a place that makes OE-style covers for a reasonable price, but the foam has 30 years and 220,000k on it. What have people here done? And no, there are no yards with MJs left around here to pull one from.
