  1. Looking for a non-rusty tailgate handle for my Jeep- its almost out of paint, and the new bodywork makes the handle (even repainted) look like crap. Anyone?
  2. Trans swap is straightforward, as said. Bench is a relatively simple swap- somebody like me would even trade you theirs for your buckets.
  3. Wow, thats bad. Although I am trying to figure out how that hit by the B moulding happened
  4. Yep, they do. That's how they sell their new/rebuilt starters to fish even if they don't need them. Thats how they got me on an alternator- new guy hooked it up. Throws sparks all over. Then he says "Oops, I had it hooked up wrong. Yeah, its bad.". Bastards. Manager told me tough crap.
  5. Sounds like it to me. Most auto places test for free as well
  6. Love that Avitar of yours!! Where is the yard with the Comanche? NOLA? New Orleans, LA.? Yep, New Orleans. Rusty, has anyone installed cruise in a non-cruise Jeep? I'd love to have it but don't know if the wiring is already in place or not. From all I know, the wiring is in place. you just need the vaccuum bits, switch, and a couple other parts from a donor vehicle
  7. Wonder how much they want for the Cruise Control parts and the rubber trim piece around the back window
  8. Not for combat, more like a base taxi. I think you hit the nail on the head. In WWII, the Willys was a great platform for just about all facets, but fragile in the extreme. This JK concept wouldn't stand a ice cube's chance in h3ll against a 105MM IED....but would work in the far-to-the-rear roles. Id tend to agree with this- as a lightweight on base role, it would do well. Some parts crossover with civvy models isnt horrid either. I wonder if they would want to use the standard V6 or upgrade it to the 5.7?
  9. That mailbox is seriously cool. Lots of detail work! Local guy has a box similar to the engine one above- I can only imagine how heavy it is.
  10. So my comanche has the slider rear window, all intact luckily. problem is that I am missing the latch/handle bit thats normally on the sliding bit. Is there any sort of replacement or handle I could put on it so I can actually use it?
  11. Friend of mine just bought the white 89 in Albany NY. Just as clean as it looks.

  13. Not to start religion, but I do like that this pope seems really to relate to the general population, and todays world...

    Tire dilemma

    What about a 235/70, or a 215/75?
  15. Thanks! My awesome buddy is doing some work for me until I can get it. I just looked into that- only one way to find out, I suppose.
  16. Friends done a few things to it the past couple weeks. The lights all work now, had a few fuses out. He painted over the stupid star, and polished up the lights and emblem. Also found that the guy didnt even take off the factory striping! Ordering some tires this week, and putting it on the road. Hope nothing new crops up when it starts driving again. Any advice on getting those decals off after 27 years? I think I'm going to attempt to paint this myself (woo spraycans haha)
  17. So I found this MJ on craigslist back in April- was a nice red, new tires, looked great. Then the guy stopped responding. Jump to 2 weeks ago, and Suddenly my buddy is driving this home for me. sometime since then, the owner decided black was a better choice. Time to get started? Not yet- its still 1100 miles away in Atlanta. Just need time to get it here! Or just move there. Not pretty anymore. The guy I got it from bought it from spraypainted it orange. Then his wife saw it, and suddenly it turned black. Everywhere, wheels, tires, grill, lights... black. But he didnt prep very well, so it comes off. I planned on a repaint anyway, so I'm not sure what to do. I wanted a tan color, but I may have to go and strip this all down first. crap. Interior won't need much- Seam on the seat is split, otherwise its in good shape. Radio doesnt work- fuse is good. No idea. Underside! BAM! Try getting that in New York. Clean as a whistle. well, other than the oil. While it was at the shop, it got a bit of company And some love on the front...better already. As for a plan, First is to get it daily drivable. So new tires all around (has new off brand31s up front, but I plan on new 235s all around). Might get a small lift, but nothing major. Remove those foglights and get some good ones in the stock location. Maybe a hidden lightbar behind the grill. Toolbox in the back, and then not sure. I plan on taking it out to Utah for some time in the desert once it hits that point in reliability- thank god it has AC! Oh, and budget build for this- trying to stay under 5k. Truck took up 1/5 of that though....
