  1. :rotf: Not a bad idea, might have to try it out
  2. Best statement right there. It always seems to need something you didnt expect. You plan on fixing one thing, buy the new parts, finally find time to tackle it, and sure enough, something else catches your eye that needs a fixing as well.
  3. lift amount also depends on the quality of your leafs. If they are old and saggy, it won't be quite as much.
  4. Welcome. I sure would love to take a look at it if you ever make it to the east coast.
  5. Welcome. Id check for rust on floor boards if you havent already. Itll most likely have some, hope you get lucky and its minimal
  6. i wonder what ^ is trying to say there. I'm not about to click a link though
  7. It seems to be spring in VA recently, but we had a foot of real wet, destructive snow a week ago today.
  8. :yeah that: I even did something different. Since the motor was bad on mine, I opened it up and took the little fork off, slid the rods into position to what it would be like in 4x4 and put the fork back to lock the 2 pieces together permanently. Wasnt too tough, and I never have to worry about it again.
  9. :rotf: all they do is yell at you. I'm not a member and just by reading some posts, I don't plan to become one
  10. Youre 4x4 problem could be the vacuum seal on the front axle. Those things always have a problem. You can just move the fork over to permantely make the front axle complete, and you won't notice a darn thing until it's been put into 4wd. Never really understood why they made that one shaft 2 pieces with a vacuum connector.

Yea you might think its fixed, but she could think otherwise.
  12. That does look like the beginning of the end
  13. I don't think Ive ever experienced rudeness here on CC or anything of that sorts. I have read other forums, not a member but just passing through, and I do see a lot of cruel comments to a person who just might not be as knowledgeable about the topic and they get bashed for being a novice. But not here, everyone is very humble about knowing more than the next person. And always giving good advice. Its too bad you don't feel the same way as most of us do on here.
  14. Finally got some good progress this weekend. Got the motor mounts done first since they were easy to get to without any manifolds in the way This is what was removed, I think the drivers side mount there is a little worn. So then the head went back on, and mock up the new exhaust manifold It was a little difficult, but it finally went all back together late last night. At one point, I was getting very frustrated, so I took a break from wrenching and took my new tires to get mounted. I'm using BBs to balance them and the stupid shop wouldnt put the BBs in the tire for me, lets just say I will never give Sears Auto center any service as long as I live. So my truck sat like this for a few hours But she did go back together, and tested it in the woods and on the road real quick, didnt have enough gas to do too much. But she drives smooth and the big step towards inspection is complete.
  15. I get the same grief. Many, many cheap purchases totaling 1,000 seems to be ok. But a one time buy of 950, and its like hell broke loose. :hmm: don't quite get it.

  17. :rotf: good one
  18. I wasnt a fan of white trucks before I owned one. And now I wouldnt want it any other color. A good clean white truck really shines.

Welcome our little MJ world. What part of VA are you in?
  20. thats a sad sight. and no way its worth that much money
  21. Congrats! Do you have a write up on those taillights? I'm looking to do the same
  22. That's very strange. I'd love to see a write up on that build process
  23. Zero times. That would make me reconsider things.
  24. Head is at the machine shop, new LTBs have been delivered and new brown dog engine mounts were delivered today yet I'm out of town for the next 4 days. Great.
