  1. The rear doors kinda ruin it for me. Why go though all that work and not delete the wheel wells from the XJ part. Its got the back of the MJ Cab so they should have spliced in the back corner of a front door to give it a full size door.
  2. It should have a pulley where the PS pump would be,its basically a dummy PS punp and should have the tensioner on it.
  3. I guess I learned something new.
  4. Does the 2000 use them?,I don't know but I thought they had a cam style adjuster on the axle like the ZJ and TJ
  5. I guess I will see you there,I attended the last TGOR meeting and it sounds like they are putting together a great show.
  6. You don't even have to go that far, just don't shift into 4wd till you match the gears.
  7. Seems that a lot of 1986 2.5ls came with 3.73 gears.
  8. Pads are cheap, buy both sets and return the ones you don't need.
  9. You could just put on an HO head with the HO manifolds and run the renix system. There are plenty of write ups on how to do the swap.
  10. I ripped off a mirror and blew out a vent window at Elbe. I found a new window but haven't found a mirror yet so I put in the window and for now I just put one of my mirror delete panels back in.
  11. I try not to go there either,I went to NAPA first and the guy knew exactly what I was after but he was out of them.
  12. It should work fine with 3 links, just make sure the upper link is built strong enough to handle the extra load.
  13. I went to O'reillys a couple weeks ago to get a turn signal relay. I walked in and told him I needed a signal relay for LED lights, the guy asked me what it was for,I told him but said it didn't matter because I have LED lights and I needed an electronic one.The guy looked at me like I was retarded and said "they are all electronic" I told him I needed one with a built in relay so it will trip with less load. Again he looks at me like I'm dumb and says "that's what a signal flasher is,they are all relays". I was getting irritated so I just asked him where the flashers are,he pointed down an isle,I walked over and grabbed the right one. As I checked out I tried to show him and explain the difference between thermal mechanical and electronic but the guy was clearly smarter then me and didn't want to listen.
  14. Took the truck to Elbe Hills OHV park,The MJ performed great. I got a little body damage but Elbe is famous for body damage so I think I came out pretty good. Here is a link to the trip report, lots of pics and a few videos of the MJ in action. http://www.naxja.net/forum/showthread.php?p=245765511#post245765511 I got home from Elbe, unloaded the MJ and hooked up the trac bar,mud flaps, and aired up the tirethen took off to Vancouver,WA for the No roads required 4X4 show. http://www.naxja.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1090992
  15. I ran 31x10.50-15s on 3.75" BS wheels with no lift. Not having the super heavy 4.0l up front makes a big difference.
  16. Good you found some,I dug mine out the other day and they are junk.

    Crazy mad flex

This is a cool pic some one took of my MJ on a wheeling trip yesterday
  18. Amount of prep is up to you,you can do it up nice with primer or just a simple scuff and shoot. When you get paint look at the can and figure out what type of paint it is equipment paint is usually alkyd or acrylic make sure you get a compatable hardener, acrylic hardener for acrylic or synthetic hardener for alkyd.if your unsure go to a real paint shop, and they will set you up. When I say real reducer I mean real automotive type reducer which you can also get at a professional paint shop. Some equipment paint says to reduce it with thinner or mineral spirits,if you do it will take forever to dry and the final results won't be as nice.
  19. The tractor paint will work fine just make sure you buy a hardener to go with it and use real paint reducer.
  20. It was a good show with lots of nice rigs.I had a good time and talked with Jason (H3RESQ) and got to see all the new mods on his MJ in person,It was looking awesome like usual.
  21. Swapped the PS pump with one from a 94 XJ 4.0l HO,wasn't sure if it would work but it fit rght on my Renix 2.5l. Steers good now and sounds much better.
  22. Problem is the group of potential buyers is tiny, there's not a lot of people looking for an MJ d44 and of the people building MJs most are going SOA so an MJ axle is not a bolt in. With the XJ D44 there is a lot more demand and they are SOA so they are bolt in on pretty much any XJ IMO the prices given have been pretty good for a rear D44 so the rarity of an MJ is worth something. A rear D44 from most rigs goes for $100-$150 Even rear D60s are usually under $200
  23. This is getting close, who all is gonna go? I will be at Elbe on the 5th/6th but as long as nothing crazy happens I'm planning on being at the show.
  24. We just enclosed a flat bed at the shop,we built the bed as part of the exo.
