  1. Have you driven a TDI? They can post up decent numbers when hopped up but they rev like they have mud in the crank case. Here's a guy on NAXJA that's doing one http://www.naxja.net/forum/showthread.p ... volkswagen
  2. Other then maybe better MPG it seems like a downgrade from your 4.0l
  3. I would have to find another MJ for a template, mine is 16" shorter then a short bed MJ so it won't work.
  4. I made them in two pieces, one I rolled for the contour of the side and the other I rolled to make the bed corner then welded them together.
  5. I will look at it,if its useable you can have it for whatever shipping is. The rear armor/light housings were fairly easy to make but I have a pretty well set up shop.
  6. The stock lights are in pretty bad shape. I will have to look at it but I'm thinking it got broken more since I took it off.
  7. Throw in another 4.0l I would check the NAXJA NW chapter you can usualy pick up a good 4.0l for a couple hundred dollars.
  8. Gold cobra went home today and I didn't get any good pics, So I guess you can post some.
  9. Car-part.com has about 35 of them listed in Washington
  10. That's not an ome lift its a RRO lift with ome springs. For $600 you get very little. I started with that kit and now out of the whole thing I'm using the SOA and the track bar, everything else long is gone. Oh and that kit as shipped will not fit 33" tires, with the stock arms cranked up that much 33s touch the back of the wheel wells. The kit also doesn't flex for crap as shipped,it will cost you about $1500 if you want it to flex like the ones on their web site.
  11. My first lift was SOA with OME springs,it sucked. OME AFAIK doesn't make a spring long enough to match soa so you have to use OME934's which are 2" ZJ springs and stack 3" pucks on them. OME is great for small lifts but I would run their stuff with a tall lift.
  12. Those electric kits are garbage they sell to rip off kids. Most use an attwood fan that's for getting fumes out of a boats engine bay. I doubt you will see any boost,if anything it will restrict the intake and lose power. If you could buy such a thing for $200 why would people spend thousands on forced induction?
  13. It all depends on how fancy you want to get. One like mine would probably be a few hundred dollars.
  14. Mine should be ready to go soon, just need to mount some taillights and finish up a couple things then it should be ready to hit the trail.
  15. Mine probably won't ever be done either but I think its nearly road worthy again. A meet would be fun.
  16. Thought I would post some pics of an exo we are building.
  17. I never liked the muffler mounted turbos. IMO its the least efficient way to set up a turbo. The compressor is driven by pressure, the pressure is greater off the head then the tail pipe area due to differences in temperature. This I why most turbos are placed close to the head as its the source of the kinetic energy.
  18. I would imagine that at 5 PSI it would have power numbers similiar to a stroker. If you did it right I think a 4.0l would hold up fine at low boost.

    oh crap !!!!

Its probably stronger then the cast aluminum ones many car companies have used for years.
  20. Sorry about the bad info,I checked my old D35 today and it has the inner seal as well. For some reason I was thinking it was like my D44 which doesn't use one.
  21. There shouldn't be an inner seal. The oil flows down the tubes to the brearings.
  22. I guess it would be a good place to hide something, maybe that's what he meant. Definently makes more sense.
