Mnkyboys 89 Comanche project

Well i drove the MJ to work all week and so far the new suspension is working great,It drives well and the new power steering is nice. It does seem to sway a bit more then it should so i don't think the 4cyl sway bar is gonna cut it anymore, time to upgrade. next big thing on my list is gears, hopefully soon i will be able to get some 4.88 gears because the 3.55s need to go- 798 replies

The stock tire size is 255/75R17. I hope this info helps. that should be about a 32" tire

finally got the MJ out of the garage yesterday and decided to flex it up while i was at work to make sure everything was working correctly. Flexes pretty good but if i did some trimming i think i could get a little more.- 798 replies

My mom had a bad experience with Maaco on her 64 Galaxy,It came out so bad and she was so disappointed with the car she eventually sold it. You truck doesnt look that bad,you might have better results with some rubbing compound and a buffer then you would with Maaco

I went through something like this about this time last year,I got laid off and 2 weeks later my wife got laid off. Unemployment barely kept a roof over my head and both of my new cars had to go. have you talked to the bank? usually they can defer a couple payments. that might take care of you till august

I do it too  My mom would play that game for hours, probably to the extent of child neglect. so the tunes are imprinted in my head too.

alot of truck stops also have a pretty good assortment of CBs and parts/accessories.

my brother had one for a while, seemed to be a pretty reliable little bike.

I don't think the lift is the problem. I had soa rear with 5" lift up front with stock arms and i daily drove the truck with no problems.

I had a 63 1/2 falcon wagon till my son got a hold of it They were truly a class act. 5 hole 13 inch wheels made it easy to put on 14 inch with 70 series tires. Windshield sloped back a bit more than earlier Falcons. 260 with Fords 2 speed auto was a drawback, but switching to the 3 speed c-4 was a breeze. I was building a 289 with 4 barrel regular fuel pistons, the hydraulic version of the 289 hi-pro cam, a dual plane hi-rise topped with the autolite 4 barrel, and headers to go in it. C-4 with a shift kit was going in behind it. But bucks for the family was necessary, so it and engine was sold. :grrrr: The one i had i bought for parts,it had been hit in the rear and someone already took the 260 and the trans. really sucked because it was a very solid car. It did give me alot of parts for my 63 2dr futura.

Today i put in my 6.5" springs, quick disconnects, and installed some new brake lines. for brakelines i went with some OEM hoses for a chevy truck,NAPA# 38620,38621. they are just over 25" long, stock are about 18". (Note- I'm using 1994 XJ calipers, these hoses won't work with the early calipers.) here's the difference this is before even with my hardlines pulled down the hoses were tight. Image Not Found this is after Image Not Found some modification was needed but they fit great and are plenty long.- 798 replies
