  1. Tips from a firefighter in case this happens to you: Engine fire: Don't open the hood, let it work for air, don't make it easy. Spray whatever you got through the grille. Turn the key off... Hard to remember in a hurry, but don't let the fuel pump keep feeding it. If you can, and its that bad, stab a hole with an axe or hammer in the hood, and spray into there with a fire extinguisher. If its an engine fire, usually we will do this for you when we get there(depending on the severity). Interior fire: Close as many windows as quickly as possible if you can. Again, make it starve for air. Key off. Same reason. Turn anything off that was on, again, only if you can. Unlatch a vent window if you can, and spray into it, if possible with the extinguisher. The most important things are to keep it as air deprived as possible, and keep an extinguisher on hand. You'd be surprised at how much fire one of those little guys can put out. Aim for the base of the fire, in a sweeping motion. You wouldn't think it, but here's a good video showing just how effective a dry chemical extinguisher does on a pretty big fuel fire: Rob L. Things to keep in the cab: Fire extinguisher, like stated in another post, get about a kitchen size at the least.
  2. there's an idea, but i don't like typing addresses in the top because it keeps a record in the box that drops down. if i type in a search on yahoo, of coarse its all trackable, but it isn't just staring you in the face if you look. Umm, having it keep you logged in won't show anything to your boss, if thats what you're worried about. But you'll still have to go through the main page to get here. Rob L.
  3. Wow. Not going to lie, that was a tough video to watch. But, you are ok, and that is the most important thing. But just having to stand there and watch your baby go up in flames when you are powerless to do anything had to be rough. Overall, nothing I saw there was irrepairable. Fire is a weird creature with vehicles. While it seems to destroy all, it leaves the entire shell whole, and in decent shape. (As long as it didn't get hot enough to destroy the metal. Looks like with some cleaning, an interior swap, windows, and some paint, and you would be in good shape. I wouldn't tear it up just because of the cab fire. Oh, insurance? Rob L.
  4. Yes, it is, or should be, as long as he hasn't messed with the mounts. Rob L.
  5. Nice score! I would like it if you could take some more side-shots... I have never seen that decal package before, and it looks cool. Rob L.
  6. Pete and I were thinking of moving the MJOTM pic there, and updating it monthly... Just haven't hashed it out yet... As for the log in thing, if you choose the log me in each visit option, no matter how you get in, it should keep you logged in. Rob L.

Well said, as I have always thought, and whenever the 'real' jeep topic came up, I have always thought the same. It is also a belief of mine that if the vehicle does its intention, be it a pavement queen, or soccer mom mobile, it does its intended purpose. After all, if it sells well, it will turn into play money for the development team and that means good things. Rob L.
  10. Sweet deal Nathan! Welcome to the club. Hey, your dad, washed.building Cherokee's when there were Comanche's rolling down the line also? If so, I have some really important questions to ask. Rob L. He started working there just two years after they stopped production on Comanches in 94 :( That sinks Nate... He might still be able to help though.... Do you think he could ask around, and find when the last comanche was made or the last few serial numbers? Thanks. Rob L.
  11. How are you at sheetmetal welding? What kind of background do you have? Rob L.
