Comanche T-Shirts -Fyi

IIRC, that truck art was based on a members rig. I have had that shirt for a few years now. -
1986 Mj 4X4 Longbed Project

She looks nice. Keep it well rinsed this winter to maintain that elite 'rust free' status! -
Generic muffler house replacement. I have never heard a 2.5 make a nice tone with fancy mufflers.

X2. I really hope something positive will happen :(

The "get Me By" Mj Truggy
87Warrior replied to cgmrdc's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
Holy smokes. I can hardly believe that truck was in KS. It's far too rust free! Looks like you are well on your way with a solid plan set forth. I look forward to watching this truck some to fruition. Sooo....when you cut those rust free cab corners out for the 2x6 rocker, would you sell 'em? :) -
.9/1.4 on channels 1/40. More variation than I would like, but works well. It was just luck. The antenna was a take off of my fathers TJ and is a foot taller than I would have bought. Didn't take much tuning and the SWR meter was giving me good readings.
-
I installed my antenna in the bed on the passenger side. I ran the coax through a hole in a bed plug, across the back of the cab and into the cab near the fuel pump harness as there was a hole already there. Once inside the cab I ran the wire to the passenger side then to the shifter to prevent any loops in the cable. Loops = bad. My radio is a small Uniden mounted above my right leg on the bottom of the dash. I get amazing reception in this truck!

It was.... Then it was the TJ..... Now it is the JK..... (i see what you did there, y j)

I don't quite understand the privacy 'fear' so many have in regards to Facebook or the like. My theory is simple: don't put anything online you wouldn't want the entire world to see. I also don't understand why so many people make a big deal out of deleting their 'page'. If you really want to delete it, just do it....no announcement necessary. My views and opinions of Facebook are probably different than most as I signed up when it was first introduced at major universities. At that time it was more of a internet gathering place to share your interests with other folks. Just like CC is.

Exactly what short console are you after? What color? 1 - surrounds 4wd shifter only 2 - surrounds 4wd shifter and transmission shifter I may have gray one of the (#2) in my parts pile. I'll see if I can locate it this evening.

Haha! Makes sense.

That bumper needs CHROMED to go on the back of that shiny black truck ;) Looks sharp, Mike.

I don't have any first hand experience with 'em, but my wife is a huge book worm and lovers her 3G Kindle. It is one of the originals with the screen that looks like print on paper, no email, no internet browser, etc. She can search for and download books on the Amazon store via the Kindle.

That cake is awesome! I wish I would have had one like that. -

Since I don't get to keep track of our pictures, I don't have many online. But I did find one from our trip to CO this last September: She supports my Jeep habit and I support her books/decorating/shoe habit. -
Personally, I would build/fix the truck first and enjoy it for awhile. While building them is fun, DRIVING them is even more fun.

It is bitter sweet to see an MJ getting built on public television (or online asI do not have cable). On one hand, I imagine if small builds like this continue we will see more specialty parts make their way out. On the other hand, these poor trucks will become even more popular sending their values up. Good if you own one, but not good if you need parts or want to buy another, 2nd, 6th, 17th, etc MJ. What is the purpose of those plates in the cab on the wrap around LCA mounts? I noticed they did not notch out the upper frame cap so there was a 1/2" gap on either side of the plate. The mount locations made me cringe

Replacement Floater Assembly
87Warrior replied to Knucklehead97's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
This will only work if you have done the 97+ wiring upgrades. -
I am in Junction City KS and only know of a few MJs on the road, and one of them is mine. I am aware of another fellow in town that has 1/2 a dozen. He is good friends with my body shop guy.

If you have a smartphone, Craigslist Pro does great. I used to love searchtempest. Now its not much better than going through all of the locations on plain ol' Craigslist.

Any chance the one you found is for a 2.4L? The Jeep 2.5L long block didn't really change from inception to demise.
-
The aluminum valve cover can be found on 2.5L, 1991+ Jeeps. Some have reported finding one on older motors as well. I am not sure, but I would suspect the 2.5L Dakota valve cover is aluminum and would work. After all, the gasket works perfect on our Jeeps.
-
My cure for the leaky 2.5 L valve cover as found by another member: - Find aluminum valve cover for the 2.5 - Install aluminum valve cover with a Felpro permadry gasket for a '98 Dakota 2.5L - Torque valve cover bolts in a spiral pattern starting in the middle

88 Comanche Chief - 'the UniTruggy'

Good luck with the lender. My wife and I bought a place earlier this year and let me tell you, I learned a ton and the experience was nothing like I had imagined. I went from a single car apartment to a 2 car ranch. Wanted a shop, but settled for land. Sounds like you need to find the old school metal shop in your area $800 is outrageous for the UCA mounts. -
Huck731's 91 Mj Daily Driver
87Warrior replied to huck731's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
His 91 has the Chrysler multipoint fuel injection system not the renix throttle body system, therefore no Idle Speed Control Motor. Instead, it will have an Idle Air Control Valve (IAC) which is a plunger style device that can usually be cleaned.
