RE 5.5" w/ drop brackets
Oizarod115 replied to MWinland's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
the reinforcement brackets won't work... yeah... so you save some $$ the MJ LCA is already reinforced, why do it again? the stock reinforcement should be plenty, of everyone ive heard thats had either the RE ones or the trailmaster, LCA bucket strength wasnt a concern. main thing with the DBs is that if you're not going to run 33's or larger that drop bracket has a tendency to catch on rocks and stuff... but IMHO its the best non-longarm kit out there. -
Newbie, just checking in for first time

I totally agree, V8 would weigh more and therefore bring your front end down. Problem fixed! ever compared a 350 to a 4-0.... the freakin thing is huge man. idk how much the both of them weigh but idk if a v8 weighs that much more. now if we're talkin cummins or v8 powerstroke :brows: -
you will need higher output 24lb/hr fuel injectors... i forget where to buy them but they are available.

welcome... like he said, beers in the fridge. make yourself at home I'm not real familiar with the v6 temp sensors or anything so i won't try to help you there you're saying the steering is light with the trailer hitched up correct? -
so what would yall do if you were in my position tryin to get your 100$ deposit back?
-
not just an old CPS... but the design as well, our CPS takes an entire revolution to check and MAKE sure when to fire before the engine actually cranks, chevy and other companies motors crank real fast then adjust. at least thats what i've gathered

you guys are flippin creepy. thats alot of information, but i might need some of your talented help soon... drove 210 miles (one way) to buy a part from a guy on the club (anonymous) and got there to find out its the wrong part and he'd already spent my 100$ deposit. and its been over a week with no response as to him paying me back, i msged him a few days ago. :headpop:  so if this goes on any longer i may need help EDIT: not to mention they shut down the interstate on the way back, and i spent 2hours to travel 4 miles. in 103* weather with no a/c or water.

no start, bad starter?
Oizarod115 replied to lostissues's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
check your battery terminals and if you still have problems maybe pick some new terminals up form the parts store and just strip the existing wires and put them in the new terminals... thats what cause my issues... some smacking off the terminals with a wrench or something also helps sometimes if theyre not TO bad. -
theyre little things up under the header panel on either side near the bumper... pretty obvious when you get there. (at least I'm pretty sure thats what those are?)

beefing up dana 30...how to
Oizarod115 replied to JeepcoMJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
thanks for fixin the link man. the D30 isnt that bad, if you're goin with a 35 or less a d44 swap isnt worth it unless you wheel CRAZY hard itll stand up to 35s pretty good. -

no start, bad starter?
Oizarod115 replied to lostissues's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
when my truck had issues cranking, (similar to yours, seemed like battery problems) the volts would read at 12 when i turned the key to run, then when i went to hit the starter the gauge would drop down. -
ah! cute kid ya got there. at this stage i'd say its safe to ease him into the technique side of the game with some madden. wait til about 20lbs to introduce weights and the ball. ;) congrats again mate!

alright i think I'm having the same problem so time to pull this thread out of the grave. driving today cruisin at like 45 slowed to turn, slow to bout 10ish put her in second and hit the gas.. Bleghhhhhhh-roooooom... didnt want to go. (not like my truck, which usualyl wants to spin out in the same situation) then it felt the rest of the trip at like 45-50 that i was driving with 500lbs in the bed. ?? wth so i come to a stop and the jeep nearly stalls, OH CRAP I'm running out of gas, duh... get gas, nothing. still wants to stall, running like 100-200rpm idle at best, feels alright at 3k but still not its usual self? all plug wires look good, dist. is recently new, fuel filter is new, ballast is fine ??? cat?

http://auto.howstuffworks.com/camshaft2.htm you basically want more overlap of the exhaust/intake and more duration at higher rpms
-
isnt it a LP axle though? and won't an XJ/MJ 30 bolt right in?
-
speaking of zuki's this one gets a nice bath.
-
correct, but it doesn't really matter since he has the AX15-231 combo from the truck, the speedo will swap right out and the tranny will bolt right in.
-
ahh, i love you guys... sorry don't know what happened there... get a little sentimental when the whiskey starts a-flowin

what dirty said  and the spare location  i remember getting the spare from under my truck for the first time, (first time i needed it obviously) i spent 45 minutes with tin-snips and a hacksaw underneath my jeep (stuck in the mud) trying to get the darn thing out..

yeah, vehicle plates stay with owner here too, i 'sold' it to my bro and he registered it out of the city to avoid emissions but i gotta pass by october. i failed CO, and my truck actually does NOT have the EGR system. since the passed test and before the failed test i have 1) durin first test it was running at 240ish degrees, fixed that problem, 210ish now. 2) new fuel injectors from 5-0 ford. (Same #/hr rate) 3) new fuel pressure regulator. and i think thats it that would have to do with emissions. my guess for my truck is o2 sensor but idk. cat looks newish
