  1. I need to replace my clutch MC and I went to the dealer for the part because of many folks saying that aftermarket MCs don't last very long. The parts guy looked up the info and asked if I wanted the "long shaft" or "short shaft" version....he then informs me that the short shaft version is the only one available now. He had no other info regarding model years and options to differentiate between the two either. I did a google search on both part numbers and the Rock Auto catalog shows the short shaft (part #53004466) as a Wrangler part and the long shaft (part# 53004467) as an XJ/MJ part. Does anyone know if this short version is the one that would work for an 89 4.0...BA-10 if it matters? He would have to order the part so I couldn't measure and compare to what I have now. Thanks!
  2. The images of the engine blocks along with the 4 stroke diagram were nice, but what do they have to do with the product?
  3. Nice! I wish my bench looked that good. I will have to give that Oil Eater stuff a try.
  4. Granted, he did make a lot of money, but apparently he didn't die a billionaire. http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/mic ... 8280.story
  5. Here's the info from the 89 manual if that helps:
  6. If you can somehow identify the malware then you will probably be able to find manual removal instructions online somewhere. Did you click on anything that advertised a product of some sort such as online virus scan or some sort of task bar tool? Have any unexpected popups shown up and if so what info did they display?

Beautiful!...the ladder/truss bridge access to whatever that pipe and wood thing is must be a real thrill to use.
  9. Thanks, my habits of posting in forums during the bad old days of dial up still stick with me.
  10. Great pics! Ohhhh...the stories some of those old hulks could tell! :D
  11. Here is the 89 pricing and options from a buying guide I picked up before I bought my truck. Excuse my scribblings, I was planning on ordering the truck as I wanted but ended up buying one off the lot anyway. http://users.erols.com/true2scale/mj-pricesheet-01.jpg http://users.erols.com/true2scale/mj-pricesheet-02.jpg
  12. Welcome! After seeing what you accomplished with the Geo, I'm looking forward to what you have in store for the MJ.
  13. Great application, thanks for the info. Installed fine here and seems to work well.
  14. 51, but I feel younger.
  15. Replaced the springs and sway bar end links and Rust Bullet'ed the axle while I was at it. I knew for a while that one of the springs was broken and the sway bar link broke last week. Turns out both springs were bad.
  16. What does this "power/comfort" switch do? I've never heard of it on an MJ before this.

    True use of tools

"SKILL SAW: A portable cutting tool used to make studs too short." Perfect!
  18. If you look at the source for the page, ( "View" --> "Source" ), there's a little bit of code there in the classified part of the page that isn't found in any other section: I have no idea how it got there, but if you can access the html file for the page and edit that line out and put it back on the server, things should return to normal.
  19. Wow!!! nice restoration!

    Hey BLHTAZ

Haha, looks like the same agency that worked on that ad probably worked on this one as well: How things have changed!
  21. After replacing a long time leaking valve cover gasket, I cleaned the engine block up with paint thinner using an old paintbrush, putty knife, and lots of paper towels. I set an old dropcloth under the engine bay and that soaked up most of the mess below. I had quite an accumulation of oil mixed with dirt, so the paint scraper did most of the removal work and the paint thinner just cleaned up what was left.

    Gamers?

I still play Battlefield 42 occasionally. It's kind of old and dated but you can go offroading while fighting off the Axis bad guys. :brows:
  23. Nicely done!
  24. I posted these a while back, they are from the 89 FSM:
  25. Nice work! I like the paint job a lot.
