  1. It's only two bolts according to the manual. Maybe this will be of help:
  2. Desaturating the red a bit seems to help, the original color is a bit intense.
  3. Nicely done, looks great. Is the dash a brand new piece or did you use vinyl on the existing part?
  4. Impressive pics of an impressive storm! I posted up some weather images for my father that I found on the newsgroups a while back. He taught weather for boaters as an Power Squadron instructor and appreciates interesting cloud shots. http://www.true2scale.net/galleries/photos/weather/
  5. I need to replace the valve cover seal also, getting lots of seepage from it. The manual says it uses a "precured RTV sealer that is attached to the cover". Any advice on what to use to replace it and any tips?
  6. Manual says 112.9" for the shortbed 4WD.
  7. From the shop manual:
  8. Welcome from another 2WD owner. We're a rare breed here amidst all the amazing off road rigs but I still learn a lot from these guys. You'll have a lot of fun with that truck, I've had mine since it was new and I still love it to death. How many miles do you have on yours?
  9. Am I the only original owner here? I paid $8486 for mine back in Oct of 89. It was a lot of money for me at that point, but averaging it out over the 16 years and 140k miles, it's been a real bargain. If all goes well, I'll have it another 10 years or more, I still love driving it.

I'm from Easton in the Lehigh Valley. 2WD here, so not much wheelin going on though.
  11. I have an 89 4.0 2wd long bed. I bought it new and it now has 139k miles on it and is still runs well. The Pugeot trans has been showing it's age for the past few years but since getting a car in 2002 I only put 3-4k a year on it so it should last a while longer. The headliner is gone, the parking brake ratchet is gone, and the paint is almost gone from the passenger side rear fender (classic Chrysler paint defect?). Despite it's quirks, I still love it and have no plans on replacing it. It was cheap to buy, it's been cheap to own and it looks like a truck should look.
  12. Go here: http://www.irfanview.com/ and download Irfanview. It's free and you can resize images with it.
  13. Thanks for setting this up. I was an email lurker at the Yahoo site but I'm more used to this type of forum setup so I figured I would say hello and thank all of you for all the information and occasional laugh that you have provided over the past few years. I've had my 89 MJ for 16 years and 139k miles now and I still love it even with it's little quirks that come with age. I'm looking forward to many more years and it's nice to know there are other's who love these trucks as I do.
