i had to winch my in-laws up and out of my driveway the other day after i told them not to pull down it..lol Had about 1/4" of ice with about 7" of snow on it..i don't clear my driveway cuz its a 30* or better slope. Used the TJ to winch them out because i had pretty deep ruts from playin around in the snow and the MJ battery wouldnt jump..
  2. This year's SIJA Jeep Jam will be at Wa$#!&a near Farmington, MO on May 2 and 3. Details for pricing will follow at a later date. There is camping available on site. Primitive camping is $5 per night. 20 amp electric site is $12.50 per night and 30 amp electric is $17.50 per night. There are also several motels in the area including Holiday Inn, Tradition Inn and Super 8. More INFO Might be a drive for some of ya but if your close enuf the new park is pretty sweet...lots of granite to play on..lol
  3. 102's are 1/4 wave. Just bought one from radio shack a few weeks ago for the TJ and gotta buy the mount so i can put it on the side so i can "fold" it down when needed. I have my crappy 4' glass one for trail rides. Now i just gotta go buy one for the MJ. I think i will mount it on a 1/4" plate by the sliding window since it the center of the jeep. the thing that was hardest to find locally was the HD spring..had my small one on it for about a mile and i thought it was gonna smack the car next to me when i turned.. :D
  4. Love my TJ sport. I almost bought a Rubi but didn't think they were worth the extra for the 44 front axle, lockers, and 4:1. I don't get to wheel nearly as much as i want so those options would have given me a ROI and i've never needed them(yet). Not sure when i'll get lockers now as i walk though/over obstacles with half the problems many Rubi's have. A lot of the Jeeps capabilities is due to drivers skill, many Rubi owners around here are city types that can't drive and just assume that little button is all they need to gt over something. i normally suggest 1st time TJ owners get a sport or X so they can get used to driving without lockers so they pick their lines better. BTW Rubi's are great as any Jeep they just have more so they cost more....i won't buy a JK just because of the engine....

  12. i've also heard that the Renix blocks have a higher nickel content(i think) and that its a denser block and holds up better.
