  1. Ah, forgot about the Chyrsler 8.25
  2. Hi guys and girls. I have a bid in right now on a repod 97 Cherokee Sport 4.0 AX15 (maybe a dana 44 in the rear but I can't tell, look a little bigger than my manches 35). Its got some quirks. Minor (to me) body damage, a little rust here and there (hey its a Jeep thing right). The big problem is it will start if jumped, but won't stay running if not revd over 1000 rpms constantly. The battery is kaput, factory 97 mopar with two big fuzz balls on the terminals, but I'm guessing the alternator is toast too since it won't stay running. Sound like I'm on the right track? It revd really strong with no hesitation or strange noises and did'nt seem to smoke or be leaking oil anywhere. Its got a 133k and I can tell was somewhat neglected. The oil is black, but not burned or smelly, little low on coolant, I can still see it in the rad and the resivor still has plenty. Its gonna get the general tuneup. But back to my original question, whats a good alternator to pick if indead it does need replaced. I've seen lots of high output ones and think that might be a good idea because I plan on adding a few more lights and maybe a winch. I've seen a pile on ebay anywhere from 120-170amps, all remans of course, but for the same price as an OEM output reman from the big chain starts, is this a viable choice. The only brand name I've seen so far are Denso's and Load Boss. Can I please have your two cents. Thanks
  3. http://www.rockrunrecreation.com/ New park opening up in Pennsylvania. They have been building it for the last two years, slated to open in October. Its gonna be mostly ATV and Bike trails at the start but they do have a few 4x4 trails already set up and lots more to come. They have 50+ miles of new trails and about 25-30 old ones already. Its an old strip mine site. The good news (for me anyway) is that its less than five minutes, bout 3 miles from my house. I've heard when its done its gonna have 150+ miles of trails and is said to be the largest park on the east coast. Campground, repair and rider training places, a gas station, first aid stations, a helipad, the works. ATV and motocross tracks. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it. I might have to by a four wheeler too. Maybe I'll end up a local park celeb.
  4. More Pictures, More Pictures I never touched her car, she was only 17 and she was pretty scared, she musta thought I was cute though cause she called me up the next day and asked me to come to a party with her.
  5. Yeah she cut me off, and I'm locked in the dreaded insurance battle with her company, they told me I'm only gonna get $600 for the manche.

    I rolled it!

Instead of a big sqare mark in the side of her Camaro I lock the brakes, caught the bank and you can see the rest. Crawled out the back window with some brushburn on my elbow.
  7. welp I bought the Neon, and I have to say I'm happy. Its got some snot, lots of comfort features the the old Shadow never knew existed, and feels like its has about twice the room, but I still miss the hatchback. Oh well, just gotta start taking the Jeep to the drive in. I'll beat it for a couple of years then maybe go get a Gen 2 SRT-4.
  8. Welp had it on the lift today, ran all new brake line as the old ones basically disolved at a touch, as for the rear end it was just a u joint that needed lubed. Now if there was only some way to make the 4.0 get 25mpg
  9. sorry for the pun but my rear end is making a thumping noise, 88MJ d35 with 3.07 Last night while adjusting my brakes I could here a thumping noise while my friend was spinning the wheels. The only place I could pinpoint it to was the rear end, it only does it in a certain spot when the wheel is spun. I just changed the fluid and didnt see any teeth or metal shavings so it has me puzzled, any ideas. Also while trying to bleed my brakes I come to find the bleed valves are stuck all around and I ended up popping a line while trying to bleed out the reservoir. What luck I finally get it road worthy a year after I buy it and I only got to drive it for 4 days before more stuff to fix. Rock out with your Jeep out. Fungi
  10. Alright guys riddle me this, I'm sitting here scratching my newbie head. Last night I was brought a set of rims to try on my manche, the were ranger rims and they were 15x8s we put it on the axle and 1st problem is the wheel studs are'nt even close to being long enough, 2 it looks like its gonna rub the control arm when I turn, I'm gonna be lifting 3 inches soon and plan on running 30-950 or 31-1050s what would be my best bet to accomplish this. New wheel studs and spacers or just try a different rim. I'm quite fond of my stock steelies but I think i'm gonna run into problems running 31s. Also if I need new wheel studs who what and where and of corse how much should I expect this to run. I also seem to remeber a wheel tire chart but I can't find it maybe on the old site? Thanks All Shane
  11. So, where do you guys get your tires. I've been considering tirerack.com but I hate paying the extra $ for shipping when that could be my spare. I also have a friend who can get me 10% off at WalMart, I'm thinking Liberator A/T or the BFG Land Terrain or Open terrain, they kinda look like BFG A/T. Anyway I'm not really worried about serious mudding, I just want something a little more aggressive than all seasons, Pennsylvania winters can be a SOB.
  12. Sounds good to me, now if we can only make it into a smoker.

Hey all, just wondering who is from PA and where do you do your wheeling. I live smack between Johnstown and Altoona.
  14. It just the $20 Turbo muffler from Advance Auto. The cat is gutted but will be picking up a high flow sometime. right click and save as. Brightness might need turned up a tad. http://www.geocities.com/afullmooncasting/MOV00101.MPG Enjoy :)
  15. Could you define the MPG a little better, I cosider the 4.0s 14-19 to be not great on gas.
