  1. Love the XJ platform, just picked up a parts 91 XJ 2dr 4.0 AX15, $150. Gonna junk it as we have two other 2dr XJs...AX15 and 231 goes into stock, saving all door and side glass for my other 2dr XJs,
  2. Did you test them straight to the battery, to verify that they are working properly? And those are the ones I was going to buy....
  3. I pulled it down wired it to release all the time. FWIW my column was swapped in from a newer Jeep but it had the release thing.
  4. so little metal...I would not drill for next SAE size, should be close enough to just run tap in for NEXT oversize. Matter of fact, when I did my back bumper on the 88, I'm pretty sure I just ran the next size SAE coarse thread in, no tap. No problems.
  5. Money_Pits, hope your talkin to NorthWoods, that sounds like a heck of a deal, a little $$$ and the help of another local MJ owner who is willin to wrench, supply parts, experience and knowledge = more money than you could save yourself, plus you get the added benefit of meeting a friend/fanatic who is local. (I live in MT so anything 250 mi or so is local lol)
  6. Where did you get the lights, and the brand (so I don't buy the same ones) got a link?
  7. Guy showed up at the shop wanted a Husky riding mower repaired, said it fell off of the back of his trailer at highway speed.... We told him we could sell him a new Toro rider, would be cheaper....
  8. This is true, but.... when you have people askin things like "what size tire can I fit on my MJ" well you get the idea. I'm all for helping, but I'm not going to tie your shoes for you.......(inside joke).
  9. Suggest you check the harmonic balancer, make sure it is not separating and rubbing on the front of the timing cover. Sometimes sounds like a bad belt.
  10. You want pics of his leg you Sicko? Jeep battle wounds always cool, I second....

    Rock Auto?

Not my go to, because of shipping. Last resort only, and only if I don't need it right now.
  12. Don regardless of what you think you doing, stroker, more pedal... even if you do/could think conservative...around town....yeah.
  13. "caveat emptor" = Buyer beware
  14. Your not copying and pasting the right code, try one of the other ones, don't give up, it's real easy.
  15. Bunch of BS, I'd be pissed too if what I purchased did not "follow the body line" there is no valid excuse for this not happening... period. I've done a huge amount of architectural sheet metal, biggest ugly fubar anybody could ever do in a design, is follow a line...then not....so ugly. How hard is it to follow a line? (insert excuse here). Professional business correspondence is not done with text...period, especially when LARGE amounts of $$$$ is involved. I NEVER send money to a private person without a PHONE CALL. In my opinion I'd cut my losses, send the rails back, let Shelby pay shipping BECAUSE he "PUT HIS NAME ON THE DESIGN" and call it good, lick your wounds and chalk up another to experience.
  16. For $200 bucks....? if you can't do a compression test, do a leakdown and look for consistent leakage across the cylinders. FWIW my 88 is on its 2nd motor since I've had it, pretty sure it has +200 K mi on it, doesn't smoke, uses a little oil, that motor won't die regularly wrap it to 3 to 4.5 K rpm, and has had piston slap since I put it in...runs fine for me, aint changin it unless it starts smoking or blows up These motors are so durable and durn near last forever.
  17. Never could understand why a person would build a rig that you can't drive on the street, or to the trail for that matter. Yeah yeah, I know...because they can. Personally, I prefer driving my rig to, from, and on trails. Makes no sense to me to build something that isn't street worthy. And if I did it sure wouldn't be an MJ, an XJ maybe, but no MJ. FWIW, I have a 2dr XJ that will someday be trail only... Oh and that truck is not trail worthy, must get old going back and forth through the same mud puddle...
  18. I would pay $$ for that. FWIW, I do have an "old man" topper like that but only opens in the back, I can see HUGE usefulness in a side opening topper, and it does look good on your truck, like it was supposed to be there. Guy up here was selling a topper like that, and it was on a MJ, and it was red....
  19. For a bed....you bet, done it before. Her name was Baby Doll, 29, 5'11" 115 lbs....va vooom!
  20. Decent combo, I run 31 10s 4.10, good all around for dd and some great off road capability. (with a front lunch box)
  21. That had to of been awhile ago. They don't make MJ sliders anymore. Had to laugh, it has been a while since I bought them, painted them last fall... might get put on the 87 this year. FWIW I expect to post major updates on both my MJs sometime this year now that I'm done moving.
  22. I bought short bed sliders from JCR.
  23. Or he could re-up, get married....nuthin wrong with that.
