ALL 1986 models were long bed, 7ft, they didnt come out with a short bed till 87... 6ft. Just for informational purposes!

Goodyear Wrangler Authority A/T from Wal-Mart.... evidently a Wal=Mart only tire. Saw a Liberty come into work today with these on it. They are a real good looking tire, but I myself with past Wal-Mart tire experience would be leery about getting a Wal-Mart only tire. Anyone have any experience with these?

I have to agree with previous posters about giving a $22,000 10 year old Jeep to a teenager....It shouldnt be done. If anything happens..... AND IT WILL....eventually.....you can imagine what a waste it would be. In my way of thinking, a teenager should have a decent beater, so if theres a minor rear-ender, or a little bump up, or a collision with a ditch, you won't feel so bad about what it cost to have this kid tear up a really nice Cherokee. In reality she should have a late model pickup with airbags, traction control, etc.... I say a pickup because she should only be able to have one passenger at a time.... that decreaes the likelyhood hugely that she will be distracted by passengers acting up. Its all true, and you know how you acted when you were a teen...just remember that! If she aint buying her own car, then provide a vehicle that will decrease as much as possible any opportunity to screw up. Just common sense! I wish you luck!

I always wondered where the 21 slot came from or if it was custom....now I know!

Being a dealer tech... there is just something about the daks that just isnt as good as the Rams, in terms of reliability, and looks....the first and second gens were good looking trucks when they came out, but the current one is just fugly. Theres no telling how ugly theyll get if the factory rumors about them being produced in the future on the caravan platform are true. I'm sorry, I really have never really had anything against them, but having to work on them, they just arent as good!

Wagoneer! but since its not listed Ill vote 97+.

Got the Cherokee moved this morning and checked it out. Its a 1986 2.8 auto, selec-trac, light blue interior with full center console, silver paint, big dent and puncture in LR quarter, rust free as far as I can tell, missing the LF door, both front fenders and header and hood, and hatch.... been sitting for who knows how many years too, and no title. After looking it over... the thing is entirely fixable and is making me question weather or not to fix it or part it out. With where I have it stored now, I guess I have time to figure that out later....its just the no title part that is throwing me off of weather or not to fix it or not. I have all the extra body parts I need to seal it back up except the hatch, and this would be a perfect one for a 3.4 conversion.....lots of stuff to consider! I have pics and will load them later when I have more time.

Ive never had a dealing with a car salesman that I have felt good about....ever! And I don't ever expect to have a good experience with one. That is soo sad to me. I know they have to make a buck too, but most of the time they are just ridiculous! Some of those guys would undercut their own mother if it meant they make a few more bucks. Lie cheat steal is a good day at work for them! But they are a necessay evil if you want something really nice and or new, most of the time. I feel for ya Eagle, and I hope this DMV complaint gets you some closure, and gets them some punishment. If I were you , and the funds were available, I would go after them with a lawyer just for spite! Maybe a little civil suit for pain and suffering added in! I wonder what it costs too to make a commercial to play on a local TV station syaing how wrong you were done? Its not libel or slander if its true! The thing is too, with weasels like them.... when really threatened, they will fold like a deck of cards and do whatever you want. We all wish you the best of luck!

When CFC was here, I nabbed a set of doors of a 86 Wagoneer.... same one I got my front end from, it has the vent wings, good seals, power windows, mirrors, and locks, and chrome trim and handles! Those are slated to go on my truck soon.
-
He says it is missing 2 doors and the hatch, so I have little faith that the interior is in good shape, but I will keep you in mind!

It can't be a 1983 because the Jeep Cherokee XJ didn't come out until 1984. I hope this info helps. I was wondering that myself but really didnt know, he got it with no title, so maybe he saw 83 build on the door and assumed??? Ill find out soon enough.
-
I have a chance at a supposed 1983 Jeep Cherokee XJ for free. It is a 2.8 auto 4x4 4 door. Ive heard the early models arent worth much for parts, my question is, is there anything worth it for me to get this thing? Are the axles the same as later models? Power steering gear? Stuff like that. I would like to build up my 86 parts truck later down the road, and maybe this could the parts truck for my parts truck!!! I'm going to try to go look at it soon, maybe this weekend, Ill let you know what I find. Let me know what you think, and thanks again!
