  1. No they are completely different, youll need the dash harness as well, and the HVAC housing and controls, and then youll need to re wire your taillight harness to make all the lights work too....lots of stuff there. I'm sure someone who's done it will chime in with better details.
  2. When I converted mine, I bought a pump from wherever, but couldnt find an aftermarket pulley or resevior. At the dealer, I found Chrysler restoration parts carried the pulley still, but no resevior, so I bought the pulley, and started looking around for a res. I knew the caravan one would be close and bought one and made it work, built a bracket to mount it to, and connected the hoses. Has worked fine for about a year now.. Good luck!
  3. Do you mean 4:56, or 3:55? I think they were available with 3:73, and 4:10 stock... car-part.com says 3:27, 3:55, 3:73, and 4:10 depending on application.
  4. Found these pics on NAXJA. Never seen any kind of reference to a mod like this here before, so I thought I would throw it out here for discussion.
  5. Stole these off of NAXJA... thought they were interesting. I wouldnt do it myself though.
  6. For what? If youre referring to a 2.5, then, no they don't... I had to make one for mine... used one frm a late model Caravan....One from a Chrysler 300 would also have worked..... This is assuming you had a remote resevior. If you have a 4.0 I think they are still made... some aftermarket pumps even have them built onto the pump already. Good luck!
  7. HUH??? Are you saying welcome to CW???? :hmm:
  8. Taxable value, at least in North Carolina, is property tax paid on your vehicles every year, based on the book value of that particular vehicle. Thats on top of the one time sales tax you pay when you buy the vehicle to begin with, and then theres yearly safety and or emissions inspection fees too. Gotta love it! :fs1:
  9. This guy obviously has no idea what this stuff is really worth. Just make me laugh! http://greensboro.craigslist.org/pts/1712198705.html
  10. The power seat adjustments are built to the frame, but if you unbolt the seats from the power frame, they MAY bolt up to the MJ tracks, you just wouldnt have power seats anymore. Not sure if the XJ seats had power backrest adjustment or not, but if it does you may have to rig power up to adjust your seatback... shouldnt be a big deal, but if I'm thinking correctly they didnt have that. I pulled power seats out of a 96 for my brother and it didnt have power backrest so you should be OK to just swap the seat pan and back.
  11. Mid '90's Ford truck color. I did this in a two tone on a 1959 VW Microbus I had. Great color blue. I think called Bright Lapis blue metallic. Just my 2 cents....
  12. Yes, as long as all the pins on the relay are the same as the old one.
  13. Pete, When you talked to the new owner.... did he assure you that he was buying this truck as a peice of american history, never to be touched or modified in any way? Or is he going to rape it by pulling the motor and swapping it into his other MJ, and drive the truck with a stock motor till the whole thing is rusted out? If he was one of the original builders hopefully he will keep it intact and true to form. You just never know with stuff like this.
  14. I did this to mine, and you won't notice much if any, but with the 2.5, every little bit helps. You combine that with some other small performance upgrades, and then you might have something!
  15. Have you priced a Wrangler lately????? Aint much difference between the two. The Wrangler is The best seller right now, so they don't discount them much if any.
  16. I guess I'm taking it for granted that the trucks I have have been unmolested for the most part. I got my 87 from the original owner who only ever kept anything bone stock. Good for me I guess! Good luck with your hookup!
  17. I pulled a radio out of an 86.... stock radio that is, and it plugged right up in my 87.
  18. If the column was swapped, hopefully they didnt play around with the wheel and spin it over and over on one direction..... that may have broken the ground wire going to the horn button by twisting it off. Just another thing to check. I'm not the horn has a relay though Ive been wrong before. Good luck!
  19. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!! Turkey!!!
  20. I don't get it.... whats so funny? :hmm:
  21. I think some of them came from the factory like that in 86! Cool though. Wonder if the chrome paint would look just as good? Might have to trry it!
  22. The axles will bolt right in, but be sure to keep all the original brake stuff from whatever axle you swap in. I think your gearing will be 3:55, not sure if thats any better than what you have now or not. The front axle will be vacuum disconnect too, so you may want to just lock it over in place and then not worry about it anymore. The yokes should be the same, but if not you shouldnt have any problem swapping them over from the original axle.
  23. Only leather got the heated seats.... and the heated seats have been subject to 2 recalls, the second one is a recall of a recall! I can have both front seats out, apart, and the elements replaced and back into the Jeep in 45 Minutes! The elements break in spots and start burning into the seat foam.... if some customers saw exactly what was happening with these elements they would freak out, but Ive never seen one catch fire from it, so thats good I guess. They are pretty decent trucks except for the fact that they are not XJ's. They just seem heavy by comparison. The 4.7 is a decent motor and I wouldnt turn down getting one because it has it. Good luck with your search!
  24. Cam and crank sensors could be the culprit, or if it isnt getting fuel are the most likely problems. Ive never done a fuel pump in one so I really don't think that would be your problem. Ive done several of the sensors though. The cam sensor is on the right side cylinder head toward the front bottom. The crank sensor is down on the side of the block, I'm thinking near the starter. If its a bad cam sensor unplug it then try to start it, and youll know its that sensor, but that won't help you with the crank sensor... we usually replace them together weather it needs both or not. There should be a schrader valve on the fuel rail, take the cap off and push the center in, if you get a little squirt of fuel, you likely have fuel pressure. Its a decent engine, but nowhere near the reliability of the 4.0. And they sound great with flowmasters on them! Good luck and keep us updated!
