  1. I found some black XJ leather seats awhile back. I paid $300 for those. I never regretted it even though they don't tilt forward. I would do it in a heartbeat assuming the color match was the same as the rest of my interior. I say $300 is a fair price.
  2. This may or may not be of any help but I didn't do any of the body work on my MJ. A body shop did all of it. They used XJ rockers and it turned out great.
  3. May it's me but I think he needs a photography class before he tries to sell that.
  4. I couldn't imagine selling mine for under $6000. It is not been modified or molested in any way other than a seat/console swap. I still have a lot more in it than $6000. The selling price seems to be all over the place. Interestingly enough, even the old FSJ/J10/J20's don't seem to sell for much compared with how scarce they are. Maybe no one cares about old jeeps. Only the new goofy looking ones.
  5. :???:
  6. In my signature, there is a link to my truck which at the time had a Fey mounted on it. On page 3, there is a comparison between the Fey and the factory bumper too.
  7. Too many times, an owner will lift these things to the sky and grab a saws-all and start cutting body panels. It is good to see a stock MJ in such clean, unmolested condition.
  8. . The House of Representatives is only half of Congress, the other half being the Senate. The law is also not a tax, because the gummint is not taking money for health care - it is instead requiring insurance to be purchased from private companies, similar to the requirement to have to purchase automobile insurance. (I don't like such requirements on general principle, but have your car smashed one time by an uninsured motorist and see if you like that...). I had a sneaking suspicion when the seatbelt law passed, and every time a no smoking law passes, that it was a precursor to some kind of health care legislation, but I have no proof it is part of the same agenda ("protect your health for the good of the collective, guard your contribution to the greater good"). . Indeed, no law is above repeal, and I am all for that. But the Republicans tried 42 times (last count I heard) to repeal it once it passed and failed every time - and now they are resorting to the cheap parliamentary trick of shutting down the government in a final attempt to force their way. I think we can all agree that they don't have your best interest in mind, but rather that of their corporate sponsors and the dollars they represent. (Not to say that wealth should not be protected - if well managed it represents potential for present and future prosperity, and must be guarded and even nurtured... but that there is a whole 'nother discussion.) . . . I like your skunk reference. Here is my favorite: Know how you can tell if a politician is lying? Watch his mouth to see if it is moving... Oh my. :hmm: I think they are trying to delay it a year like the corporations that were given exemptions. I think some believe it is not ready yet. Also control the debt ceiling. The debt is raised more than other presidents combined. Now it will need raised again. So they are trying to control that. Btw, who gets to manage your wealth and who defines what is "well managed"? The only tricks they can come up with is to block off the monuments or put cones up along Mt Rushmore? Barry's slogan has been changed from "Yes we can" to "Yes we cone!" :rotf: "The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America 's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that, 'the buck stops here.' Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better." Obama 2006
  9. Where does this guy come up with this stuff? :rotf:
  10. They want $400? If I needed one that bad, I would head south and buy an entire truck. :rotfl2:
  11. Hey, I have a place at Lake of the Woods.
  12. I hope you don't take this wrong but I hope you don't make a living at photography. If you do, I think we should take up a collection. :rotf:
  13. I wonder if the dome light works? :brows:
  14. One more from Indiana. North east along US30 between Warsaw and Ft Wayne.
  15. Adding an air bag is easy. Just ask your wife to come along. You may need to turn up the radio though.
  16. Mine was also in pretty rough shape so I bought one from a vendor in ebay (can't recall the name). I had trouble getting it to fit so it ended up in the trash. Then I bought a new backer from a local JY, bought some 3M headliner glue and put new fabric on it. I doubt I have $20 in it.
  17. I love it when you guys leave tools behind. I got a nice set of sockets under the hood of an XJ at a JY.
  18. I am not sure what it is but there is something about a white MJ. Oh and don't swap the wheels.
  19. napaonline.com does a little better job of posting the dimensional information of the differences between model years.
  20. I bought a Pontiac 6000 STE in 1986. I believe it had a 2.8 with multiport fuel injection. I remember it wasnt too terribly fast but I thought it could do pretty well compared to most other cars of the period. I was pretty happy with it's performance. Maybe the fuel injection made a difference?
  21. I took my '87 to a body shop a few years back. The flairs and vents were starting to look a little rough. When I picked up the truck, I was curious how they "restored" the plastic parts. They said they painted them. I couldnt tell.
  22. Hey Don, Why would you change the oil before you park it? I change mine after I started driving it again. I assume it stirs things up a little and gets any sludge out. Am I doing that backwards?
  23. Factory black all the way (excuse my seat swap). But ok, i admit the laredo does look good.
  24. No offense but I don't get any of these comments. I think the interior looks great and they do look vintage. The worst thing you could do is rip it out and try to modernize it by installing a late model xj interior. I replaced my bench with buckets but only because I was afraid I would get rear ended and my head would go through the back window. These arent new 2013 trucks.
