  1. I went with a Plain Glass face Replacement Lens. Using High Power H4 Bulbs. Replaced the Relay. Here is where I got some Extra Replacement Bulbs, http://www.memotronics.com/ They have a number of higher wattage bulbs. Yes, I have ordered from them, Yes the Bulbs are reliable. I bought a set at Advanced Auto, they lasted 5 months. I got a few sets ($4.39/bulb for 130/90W, H4) Still on First set after 5 years.
  2. From Advanced Auto Parts http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/bwd-ballast-resistor-ru17/20100598-P?searchTerm=ballast+resistor
  3. I Love Milwaukee Tools, Preferred over all. I have had some of HF stuff last, others just fell apart in the middle of what I was doing. Some are worth it, some are junk. I say this with a HF Store less than an hour drive away.
  4. JesseFourOhYou Sir, NEED to Keep this in mind....... XJ Weight on Springs is not even Close to HALF the rating of MJ's. Even the Heaviest of the XJ Leafs are about HALF of the MJ Leafs. There is Much Documented Proof of this FACT. As for what you are wanting to do, I too, would like to see it when done. I put 31's on mine Initially ( Now I'm on 33", can go to 35" with No Rubbing ) Front: 5" Lift, with Factory Wheels. There was Massive Rubbing on the LCA. Made adjustments to get 6" Lift, Spacers for Wheels, Different LCA, Rear: Modified SOA, gave me 6 1/ 2" Lift.1" Spacers for Wheels. Now I'm Good. All of This with No Cutting.
  5. For my SOA, I have the Modified Lower Shock Mount Plates, (Flipped and Cut to Sit Properly). I have had No Issues with them at All. Not to Mention, Easier to get a New Set of Shocks, due to Original Mountings. After the SOA Conversion, STOCK Length Shocks worked Just Fine!! Net Lift = about 6 inches. After I get the Metric Tonne Leaf Springs with 2in Lift, I Still only need to find Shocks with 3-5in Lift. Even though Total Lift for Rear is about 10 in.
  6. I got the Airtex unit, 8 years ago. NO TROUBLES!!!!!!
  7. With the Tech Data from hornbrod, My Question is...... WHY does Everyone want to use a Clearly Inferior Component in the Rear Leaf Spring Package of a Comanche??? I mean Get a Grip on Reality!!!! Cherokee Springs are Not Even Close to Equal!!!! IMO, Cherokee Leaf Springs are a Waste of Time & Money when used in a Comanche. The Free Arch, Capacity & Length are All Way too far off to have an Equal Comparison.
  8. Can you get a Pic that is Closer & shows it Clearer???
  9. Sounds like something Dried, Cracked, or Just Don't Work. See where it is coming from, What is causing it to Leak or Burn.
  10. Try to find some type of a Metal Tray to fit in the hole. I made a small box and attached a lid to the Console.
  11. Anyone who would want a bunch of the Lugnuts, (Like in the Group of 5 Photo) I'm switching mine over to a taller Lugnut. Would be willing to send my old ones (not excessively beaten) to you. Just would like to be reimbursed for the Postage.
  12. Do you have a SWB or LWB???
  13. These Bulb Casings are Similar to what I have, Nice Glass Face, Good Light Output. http://www.ebay.com/itm/79-88-JEEP-COMANCHE-PAIR-OF-7x6-CRYSTAL-CHROME-DIAMOND-CUT-HEADLIGHTS-/201114859826?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AJeep%7CModel%3AComanche&hash=item2ed3613932&vxp=mtr Here is where I get my 130W Foglight Bulbs, 140W/100W H4 Halogen Bulbs. Will be getting others too. www.memotronics.com I have dealt with him, willing to do good deals when getting Quantity Order. He was on evilbay, sent a Business Card in the Package. Great Prices, Good Quality Bulbs.
  14. I Like the Glasspacks. I already got my "Purple Hornie" from Summit. $30 with Clamps. I may think about the Vortex or Pro Muffler, were I to not like the Glasspack.
  15. I'm looking for new Boneyards to search too. Doesn't matter where in NJ, I'll drive there. Make a Mini vacation out of it.
  16. Where is that guy who wanted to Build one of these???
  17. Hey 88ChiefMJ, Looks like the rear Shackle is aftermarket, Front Control arms too. Count the Leafs in the Rear, this will help to verify where they are from. SOA will net you roughly 6" if Lift. The Perches, Brake line and Parking Brake Cables all will need attention. Don't forget about the Height Proportioning Valve!! Adjust the Rod, or Relocate the Bracket on the Axle Hub. Best of Luck!!
  18. This may sound a bit strange. I Really like the Middle and Winch placement and where it is closer to the Frame, on Rusty's, I like the style of the Full Bumper and sides, but not how far it sticks out, from Nates. Would you think either would think about designing these traits into 1 Bumper?? I would imagine I am not alone with this.
  19. I have seem others use the Bushwacker XJ 2 door Flares, looks decent.
  20. I've done a bunch of the Tilt Column Repairs. They are not too difficult, just frustrating, when you don't have the Correct tools. I Still Swear by having a Chilton Manual. Here is the Only Advise I can give you, Look into it, before you start and Get the Correct Tools!! Good Luck!!
  21. General Spring has the 5 leaf (3/2), 1,700 Lb Load cap. $220 Plus Shipping Per Side. Works out to well over $500/pair. The Group Order was there for 5 Sets, Ordered and either Picked up or Shipped to 1 place. At least, this is what I get from the way the deal was written. A Local Shop, 5 Leaf, Metric Ton w/ 2" extra lift, quoted $265 each. There is a few other Shops nearby, all are about $500 for the pair, Plus Shipping. Checked with Rusty's, just carry Helpers. The place I am thinking of, Quoted $350/pair. Plus Close enough to take the ride. I just can't remember the Shops Name, or where it was.
  22. Congrats on the New (to you) MJ!!!! May you have Many Happy miles!!!
  23. I would get the Visor from Poland, for less than $200 So what if there has to be a little trimming. Or better yet, I'll make copies of mine (It is a L*$%) At least, it would be less than the $349 deal!!
  24. There is NO WAY this is worth the $9,500 that is there now!!!!! I've seen MJ's with a better set-up going for $4500 after a full restore. This guy is Wacked on Crack!!!
  25. I had done the SOA, have a Custom Lower Shock mounting plate, and a wedge. My gain was 6-3/4 inches Now I am going to the Metric Ton Springs, with an extra 2 inch curve. I should get another 3-4 inches lift. As long as I figured it right, I should have about 10 inches lift in the back. I have the stuff to go Long Arm with 10 inches lift in the front. Then I will need to get new donuts. 35's or 37's I gotta check the "Legal Height" but, I should be good
