what are you using in the rear? if I remember right, scout fronts have 0 degree caster.

throttle body and idle air controller. the IAC controls the idle speed. :thumbsup: when it gets gummed up, it can do weird things to the idle.

lead to frame cracking? I thought they were designed to prevent it? :hmm: do you know where the cracks happen? I've seen completely rust-free MJs crack the frame right between the track bar and steering box (where the push/pull is happening). is this the supposed crack point? Or are the braces supposedly cracking the frame on the other side where the brace mounts to the frame?

Did the XJ have an AX-15? need to see the other side of the crossmember.

can you post pics of what you're seeing? are they AX-15 crossmembers?

if it overheats when going slow, it sounds like the fan isn't pulling enough air. is your fan shroud intact? how old is the radiator? 180 is actually pretty low temp for a closed system 4.0L. 200-210 is more typical for a normal operating temp.

did you include me in the initial batch?

the peugeot trans was used behind the 4.0l in 87-89.5 :thumbsup:

all I am is a peacemaker trying to find a balance. the topics aren't banned, but getting controversial topic after controversial topic is just too much angst for the atmosphere that most members have come to expect. compare it to hanging with the guys at the bar or in the garage. the occasional heated debate is fine, but a barrage of them just sucks the fun outta the room.

snow tires are AWESOME!!!!! in the snow, rain, whatever. I'll never go another winter without. :D (though next winter i hope to have them under an MJ, not the minivan. lol)

it adjusts airflow when the throttlebody is closed to maintain a consistent idle speed. :thumbsup:
