  1. sounds less and less like a 2 grand truck and more like a 1 grand truck. I'd change my offer.
  2. x2. bring a fridge magnet with you and check the rockers and above the rear flares. try to pull up the carpet somewhere and look for moisture or rust. crawl underneath and look at the paint and the floorboards.
  3. need more details. with these old trucks, mileage doesn't matter anywhere near as much as how well it was treated during those miles.

    sweeeeet... :D
  5. if possible, I would scour the junkyards for an 84-86 or 94+ AX4/5 which will have the external slave (and possibly even good parts :D ) and snag up the bellhousing and related parts.
  6. yup, completely different wiring routing and gauge resistances.
  7. a wrangler one could also be made to work, but not directly. you'll still need XJ/MJ t-case linkages and an XJ/MJ AX-4/5 shifter handle. plus the wrangler trannys seem to all rotate the t-case up slightly. this can be a good thing cause it provides a bit better ground clearance, or a problem if the t-case hits the floor (which can be solved with a big hammer). car-part.com can help in junkyard searches.
  8. been there, done that. :D I was just driving to work and BAM! it really is an awful noise.
  9. I'm a big fan of a low COG and less stress on the axles, so 4.5/33s for me.
  10. you could have them anyway you wanted. 2wd or 4wd both came with 4spds or 5 spds. the 5spd will have better gearing in the axles.
  11. that should have 3,55 gears. and is way overpriced for a donor. you don't need a comanche. XJs work great too. the only thing is the rear axle will need perches and your current rear driveshaft will need to be shortened.
  12. the trannys swap directly. if you have a 4spd manual now, you'll want to find at least 4.10 gears axles. (you've likely got 3.55s now) finding a 2.5l/5spd donor is usually the cheapest route.
  13. tracbar will swap directly, but if you go up 3" then it'll be too short and the axle will be pulled to one side. 2wd MJs sit about one inch lower than 4wd MJs, so take that into consideration when calculating lift.
  14. what happened to it?
  15. ignition switch bad?

  19. hopefully the signup issues will be solved soon.
  20. actually it's the peugeot and AX-15 that are the same length. The AW4 trans is a bit longer.
  21. Depends, who is your current host? As long as they support MySQL 5+ and PHP 5.3+ running under Linux it should be fine. does it easily support a smart phone program? I can deal with the glitches, but we could really use a tapatalk or forum runner or the like.
  22. I do believe you'll need a 4wd cable (I think the 2wd one is too short) make sure you get the right gear/shaft for inside. there are some difference over the years. and the gears change depending on the tire size. but the gears pull right off the shafts so you can mix/match to get it right.
  23. I'm guessing I'd have to give up my current host?
  24. amen
