  1. yup. easy enough to do. did my last one on the side of the freeway. :D (at a rest stop technically)
  2. I had a similar issue in my 88. brake pedal was firm when engine was off, but completely mushy when engine was running. turned out to be a bad booster.
  3. got pics of what you're working with? did you move the trans crossmember to the AX-15 spot?
  4. I wouldn't even think about swapping the gears, but rather would swap the complete axles themselves. gears aren't as easy as bolting them in. they must be set up properly and, long story short, it's just not for the novice. 3.55s should give you more perceived power (and a bigger smile) and a bit better fuel economy (since the engine won't have to work as hard to get the truck going from a stop). I'd do it in a heartbeat.
  5. they might indeed be a pain in the butt, but gears are not as simple as just bolting them in. they must be "set up". it's one of the few things on a rig that are not for a novice to tackle blind.
  6. Going SOA lifts the back end up 5.5-6.5 inches over the current height. but how much lift you need in the front will depend on the condition of your leafs and if you want a bit of a rake to the truck (do you want it level when empty, or level with some stuff in the bed). and those numbers will change if you add in a heavy bumper, winch, etc.
  7. yup, I'd start with looking at the track bar.
  8. dunno. never used it. you might want to start a thread with groupbuy in the title
  9. no photos of the little ones? or are they still in utero? nice mothers day present either way. :D
  10. RE has a reputation for high quality stuff.
  11. cool rig. but 90k? wow...
  12. note the direction of the shock eye orientation. they are different than XJs and other rigs.
  13. forgot all about the rear shocks, or more precisely the lower shock mounts.
  14. you should be good to go now.
  15. make sure you use an AX-15 crossmember.
  16. what's your IP address?
  17. :dunno: Haven't a clue. I'll pass it on to our hosts and see if they have any ideas.
  18. any 23 spline 231 will work. you'll find them behind 90+ 4.0s (2.5s are all 21 spline) in pretty much any small Jeep (XJ/MJ/TJ/YJ/etc) that had command trac. you'll want the XJ/MJ linkages though (including the little arm on the t-case and the bracket on the body). try car-part.com if you haven't yet.
  19. I love easy fixes :D can you copy/paste this into the "most important tip" thread?
