thanks for the link! Now does that apply to the NV3550 as well? If it is from a TJ will the bell housing be the same for the old 87 4.0?

I have an 87 Comanche with the BA/10 and is 2wd. The transmission is on it's last leg at 246k. I want to swap out for an ax-15 or NV3550. I have never swapped a transmission before and am confident I can figure it out, but what am I getting into as far as a 4x4 transmission with a NP231 transfer case attached. What tech pages could I be linked to? Any tips? What transmission will fit and what if any modifications need to be done? The more info the better!!! Thanks guys in advance! :wrench:

I have a 98 xj, and my comanche is currently down and not running for quite a while (long story) it is an 87 4.0L 2wd, and my xj is a 98 4.0L 4x4, i am wondering since my comanche has brand new calipers on it if i could interchange them into my xj since one of them is seized up pretty bad on my xj. I have looked them up online and i don't believe they are different at all, although they do have different part numbers. thanks!

price seems steep, guessing somebody could design something home made for much cheaper. thats what i would do at least :wrench:
