  1. update: I uninstalled, then reinstalled and it's the same. so I uninstalled and left it out and so far I can see youtube vids and there are no error messages, but places like facebook still seem to need adobe to show embedded vids. whatever. all-in-all I think this is a win. :D
  2. I downloaded straight from adobe's website, so I should be good there. but I think I had firefox still open when I did the uninstall so I'm going to try again using the instructions in Jeep Driver's link.
  3. waaaaay outta my league, that's for sure. I've reinstalled the flash player with no change. :(
  4. starter 7
  5. so in my attempts to simply get embedded vids to play properly I wanted to reinstall the adobe flash stuff. no problemo I thought, I'll just uninstall them and reinstall and see what happens. so now I've discovered that I probably shouldn't have uninstalled the adobe activeX program because I cannot for the life of me find a place from which to reinstall it. how badly have I screwed myself here? nothing flash related works. in the flash player settings manager I see: ActiveX version: not installed NPAPI Plug-in version: 15.0.0.223 PPAPI Plug-in version: not installed and I can't find a place to download what I'm assuming are the missing pieces.
  6. try bypassing the fuel pump ballast resistor. its a whitish ceramic chunk about 3 inches long in the engine by on the drivers side fender. just take the 2 wires coming off of it and connect them together and try starting it up
  7. :clapping: that's a happy ending in my book! could have been much much worse.

    want

kinda makes me wanna don a cowboy hat and drive across the southern states dodging the sheriff :D
  9. oh, I DO know what I'd do. I'm not going to share though, just in case i find myself in court someday. :D best of luck to ya, man. :( that truly sucks. ya don't mess with another man's ride. :fs1:
  10. jack up one rear tire, put the trans/tcase in neutral, rotate the raised tire around twice while counting the times the driveshaft rotates. about 3 times is 3.07, 3 and a half times is 3.55, etc. make a mark on the driveshaft to make it easier. if the rear axle is a posi, then you'll need to jack up both rear tires and rotate the tires around once.
  11. same here when I saw diesel for 3.11 in Tennessee. I didn't even need much but felt I just had to stop. :D I know where I'm filling up on the way back north
  12.
  13. neat! I love sifting through piles of old stuff. never know what you're going to find.

  15. if I remember right, around here you can get them installed for about 100 or a little less. no freezing your hands off while fiddling with wires. :D
  16. 'bout an hour south of me! or at least where I'll be in a couple days (in Michigan at the moment)
  17. if I save up a week's worth of beer rations, can I have one heck of a saturday? or is it a limit of 2 consumed on any given day?
  18. nice :rotf:
  19. Z-28s don't that headlight issue :D I agree on the leaky t-tops though. and be careful about saggy doors. my father has a nice 83 Z28 HO. great little toy. I agree with the others and would just replace the carb. when it comes to hauling, more cubic inches is better. I'm going to go with my standard phrase: just because it's a good deal, doesn't necessarily mean it's a good idea.
  20. buy a cheap XJ and use that as your winter driver. that's the ONLY way to keep your MJ nice. I'm serious. our trucks rot from the inside-out. there's no way to prevent your rockers from dying. there;s no way to keep your cab corners from dying. there's no way to prevent your doors from dying. there's no way to stop the red cancer from eating away at your truck except to keep it away from the salt. salt sucks. but if you want to slow the death, frequent car washes with an underbody nozzle can help.
  21. Your brain sucks probably from banging your gourd on that light all the time. :rotfl2: it's adjustable :D
  22. hey, I love winter! or at least snow. I love snow. I can do without all the bitter cold. :D and yes, I will be in GA for this winter.
  23. update: changing out the pump cured it. but I wasn't able to reuse either of my older pumps because both had rotted pulley-attaching threads and you cannot use the old pulley on a newer jeep. it's close... close enough to work well enough for me to install one for a few seconds as a proof of concept, but it'll tear up the belt for sure. so I got a new pump and all seems well again. :D
  24. I'll never go back to using a handheld light. :D worst part is I've done this before, forgotten all about it, and rediscovered it. my brain sucks. :fs1:
