please tell me you checked out with just 2 tires and bananas :rotf: My dad and I had 2 tires go bad on the freeway and limped to a Meijer (like a walmart but less evil) and went through check out with 2 tires and a banana (I was hungry). :D

the 3.1 and 3.4 are the ones to look for (mid 90s camaro/firebird or S-10). it's a better block design and will accept all your accessories/exhaust/intake and bolt to the trans. only caveats are that your truck has a mechanical pump on the engine block and so you'll need to add in an inline electrical pump and then your current flywheel will need to be neutrally balanced by a shop (the 3.4 is internally balanced but your 2.8 uses the flywheel as the balancing mechanism). car-part.com can help with junkyard searches

well, all of it really. some things (like the seats) will need to be adapted, but grab everything you can. :thumbsup:

the AX-5 is the 5spd version of what you have now. :thumbsup: found behind 2.5 and 2.8Ls and goes right in. the AX-15 is the bigger brother (found behind 4.0s) and can be swapped in with a special bellhousing (2.5L dakota or I believe Novak or Advanced Adapter makes an aftermarket one).

and you'll likely want to add a 5spd to the equation if you want to run a freeway. :thumbsup:

I wouldn't pay more than 300 for one that was in perfect shape. if I have to buy brakes, then 200. if anything else is needed, than 100. make sure the calipers are there. even if they are bad, the core fee for them is quite high.

well, if they work like every other mono spring I've ever read about (factory and aftermarket), they would suck after a very short time. :dunno:

I'm a little partial to the stubby stinger with a winch-light style LED bar on it.

cooling is a recurring issue from v8 swaps (our trucks have tiny grill openings). also be prepared to either spend gobs of money or fab all your own things or both depending on how you want to do it. Novak and advanced adapters have parts for the chevy swap.

there's no reason I can see to run any more shocks. the truck weighs practically nothing. a photo would help to know what you're looking at. :thumbsup:

in theory, heavy duty springs shouldn't give any lift. they should simply better resist sagging under a load. in reality, brand new springs tend to need a time to settle and old springs tend to be sagging from years of use, so your new heavy duty springs might give an initial lift that lessens a few months later.

General Spring and HellCreek both make 3" lift packs. :thumbsup:

they are like legos. the interchangeability built into the design means any year can be made to have any engine from any XJ with very little work (except for the 86 engine bay issues of course). the shape of the body is all that matter to me. :D (insert way-too-easy sexist joke here)

there should be a thread in the DIY forum where someone replaced his rockers (with rockers from another MJ) and snapped pics as he went. check the top post in that forum for a semi-organized list of the threads. :thumbsup:
