  1. I believe that's in the forum settings. you'll need to sign in to view any signatures.
  2. there is a small improvement to be had by swapping the mechanical fan for an electric one. but yeah, gearing and running well are the keys.
  3. forgot to include my new hitch silencer thingie. supposed to prevent banging of the hitch. don't know if it does that yet, but it works fantastic and holding my rack up. it's a cheap rack that doesn't fit well and thus hangs down and the corners would drag on the concrete when turning into a steep driveway (which is very common in north GA). now all is well.
  4. the link in my sig should have info for swapping around automatic transmissions.
  5. what to look for depends on what you're going for with the truck. what are the plans?
  6. turbines are my favorite MJ rim (and second favorite Jeep rim after the TJ rubicon). I say go for it.
  7. love the tires I was thinking on a baby set for my liberty once I fix the suspension. I think the inner trim pops out and that exposes the screws. been a while since I've dealt with one.
  8. just be careful that you don't accidentally plug any drain holes in the frame, rockers, etc
  9. nah, that's one of bleepin'Jeep's vids
  10. nah, the factory units should do fine. but I've seen some scary "recover points" in my life. A uniframe Jeep needs a proper "sandwich" on the sheetmetal and as many connective points as possible. I'm sure a factory setup will pop up on ebay now and again.
  11. looks like it was meant to be there
  12. there's nothing worse than thinking you have a safe way to extract only to find it ripped out the sheetmetal and mangled the body (plus you're probably still stuck)
  13. some new research on seats has shown that KK seats are an easy swap, are comfortable, and fold forward. now I just need to find one at the 'yards to test out that hypothesis.
  14. it's good to know that violence still works
  15. no need. all is well... forever. (although if it fails, I'll get back with you )
  16. looks good. maybe a bit too clean though
  17. so I noticed this in the video. this is a small back window while the truck being carried had a large back window. not sure what it means.
  18. gotta let it bake in the sun for a bit
  19. classic lights for a classic Jeep!
  20. not mine. it's a friend's. she seems to like it. my family has been a chrysler minivan family (until we traded that last one for the durango)
  21. instead of a novel, I think I'll do this one in bullet points -Honda Odyssey minivans use nylon roller bushings as a guide for their sliding doors -All other minivan manufactures I could find at the junkyard use metal bearings in this location -Autozone has $45 replacement brackets that are also failure prone (lasted 3 weeks) and, as it turns out, have absolutely no warranty whatsoever -dealerships will happily replace the broken part with a new one for like $500 -after some research I found a steel bearing that is very close to the nylon roller's size -installed them today and the door works better than it did with the brand new autozone part all is well
  22. well, I thought this would be an update about a new steering wheen from a Commander, but after an hour at the junkyard I decided it was reeeeeal close, but just not close enough to buy it without some further research on airbag wiring. but I did find a Libby with decent seats in it (meaning there was still plenty of foam squishy-ness in the padding). Just need to confirm that manual seats will easily go onto to a power seat base and I may go back and get them.
  23. love it! lookin' like a Jeep should
  24. not one of my trucks has ever had a complete and matching interior. I'm pretty envious great work on that 'gate!
  25. sounds like a busy day for sure!
