finally have some wifi and a break in the action. Just spent the night in the Durango at Correy's place in Springfield MO. Last night was in the Durango at Greg's, and then the first night was in the Durango at Jeremy's. notice a trend? I'm getting close to having this little cabin-on-wheels the way I like it. Yes, I could have slept inside their houses, but I've got a lot of nights ahead where I'm definitely going to be in here and I figure it's better to practice when I've got a backup plan right outside the door rather than at a rest area somewhere. I've cut some cardboard covers for the windows and it's actual quite nice as long as you're not claustrophobic (half the back is filled with stuff since now my trailer is full of parts). and speaking of parts, yesterday I met up with Keith and we hit a the biggest junkyard I've ever seen (advertising over 2000 cars!) in Springfield where I scored most of a black MJ interior (dash and seat were bad) plus rear flares and a factory rear slider and he got some great chrome headlight trims and the tow mirrors plus the factory brackets that go inside the door. Then at another junkyard (having a half-off weekend!) I scored a flattop hood conversion (like my Liberty has, but in perfect shape) and some good interior bits from a Cherokee Country and some more Libby tow hooks. I've been told there are some more MJs near here that I'm going to check out before I hit the freeway. good times with good friends. I'd say this trip can be declared: so far, so good!

she paid you $20 to haul away the heavy things. -
90* bit attachment for a drill.

welp, in theory the Durango is all fixed. I'll find out in the morning when I run to the dealership. and then a mad dash to pack it all up, adjust the hitch, and then hit the road.

they are out there. be diligent with your searches and have cash on hand to pounce when you find the right one.

then we should plan for a little PowWow in october, the week of the 14th.

I used to carry a 13mm wrench tied with wire/tape to a flat steel bar for extra reach when messing with tensioner pulleys, but then I bought an extra long 13/15 boxed wrench to take its place. (I guess technically it's a "spanner" since I got it from england). does the job quite well!

my first car was a hand-me-down Aerostar. (hey at least it was a stickshift. ) not long after though I saved up and bought my first MJ. still have it, 20 years later. Your son is already ahead of the curve!

if you have a laptop, I would save the images to it and then upload them here to the CC. we will host them for you.

yeah, what are the details!

I've uttered the words "found an MJ at the junkyard today" before, usually with much excitement. I can't imagine following it up with "and I brought her home". that's a super clean truck you found!

what's inside? -
good point. personally I'd never spend money on drums. (except for my new baby which will remain as original as possible)

if the dana 35 you have is working ok, then I would keep it. Just don't spend any money on it beyond oil and brake shoes. If anything serious goes wrong, invest that money into an 8.25 or Explorer 8.8.

how long is the rear driveshaft?

my cameras plug into USB power.

There are a couple campgrounds in Colorado City just 15 minutes south of Katie's place.
-
oh, and Katie's place is at: 5668 Brian Ave. Pueblo CO 81004 south of Pueblo proper.
-
there's plenty of room, but the final road up to her place is steep and pretty dang rutted. I imagine there has to be something near by where you can stay in a camper. I'll see what I can find. there's a walmart in town.

I went with this one for the Libby, and because it rotates a lot to accommodate a vertical glass I'll be adding one to the rear window too. I'm doing it because I want to catch the aggressive drivers on the roads in Atlanta (should an accident happen near me but not include me, I want to hand the cop some proof of their insane antics), but you could also use it on the back window of a truck to keep tabs on the bed. https://www.ebay.com/itm/GPS-Camera-HD-Car-DVR-Dash-Cam-Video-Recorder-G-Sensor-1080P-WiFi-Parking-Mode/283512976933?hash=item4202b0b625%3Ag%3AZd4AAOSw4O5c~1Bm&LH_ItemCondition=1000 I have this one in the Durango. no reason that its different, I just bought it first and didn't yet know about the style I put in the Libby. both give good video. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Anytek-X28-FHD-1080P-150-Dash-Cam-Car-DVR-Camera-Recorder-WiFi-ADAS-G-sens-W4H1/303255508978?hash=item469b6fd7f2%3Ag%3AKJEAAOSwVcFdMJIC&LH_ItemCondition=1000

it is ALWAYS time to get a dash cam with motion sensor. mine cost $22 shipped plus 6 bucks for a card.

there's no way I could get through all his lines with a straight face. I think that's the most impressive part.
