  1. as the deadline approaches I'm finding that I'm having to move some things around. I'll update the map later today.
  2. start one! start one now! too many MJ owners keep telling me they'll get to it later and then never do.
  3. When I get ready to add a sway bar to my longbed trailer (simply placing the spare tire to one side makes the whole thing lean), I'm going to take some pics and measurements (and bring the trailer with me) and then wander the junkyard poking under suvs until I find something that works. maybe an explorer bar? maybe from something with IRS? there are a lot of bars out there. I'm sure one of them will be perfect.
  4. what types of trails? with a locker in back and tow points front/rear you can go to an awful lot of cool places. (never go alone of course)
  5. dropped the Durango off at the dealership to fix the front axle shaft that's spewing grease out of das boot.
  6. holy crap I had completely forgotten they covered that song! added to my playlist

    Build order

rare or at least cool enough that I'd frame it and hang it on my wall.
  8. daaaaaaaaaaamn! that's an incredible change!
  9. don't worry, I'll be back.
  10. Comanches are rare enough that every time I see one it's a big deal
  11. can't beat a free bike that runs
  12. ew, melted chocolate ice cream should never be found inside an engine. thank goodness it survived!
  13. I've seen generic LED housings like the kind that go into Rusty's that have a built in reverse feature.
  14. it was just last week during passholder previews. We didn't plan on going this month, but Disney gave us free 4 hour passes to see the new star wars land so we couldn't say no. january is another good month. holiday weeks are to be avoided.
  15. fast passes are key! I've been on the avatar ride many times now and not once did I wait in that crazy line.
  16. kudos to the engineers, painters, concrete sculptors and other artists. that land is just mind blowing in detail and realism! Hondo, the best anamatronic to date these guys walk around an interact with the "intergalactic tourists". It's weird to watch them in action because their words are entirely canned. The phrases are activated through hand gestures and buttons on the guns. pathway "through" the millennium falcon to get tot he cockpit for the ride from the queue to the MF ride. you can see the detail put into the top of the 1:1 scale ship outside that's an anamatronic behind the cage. the walls in this building are COVERED in easter eggs for star wars fans. the MF is insanely detailed. you can't walk up and touch it though. this is the ceiling of the toy shop in the market (which is set up to look like a local Batuu alien makes little toys out of scraps). that's the falcon evading through an asteroid field (which would be a story that the shop owner would have heard) made fo bits of metals and such. this is set up as a wood carvers stand. there was never any body here, but it was made to look like they just stepped out for a break. that's an R2 unit converted into a small firepit. I wish I knew what they used to make the pile of "ash" underneath of it because it looks crazy real.
  17. maybe they feel that a fee cuts down on the looky-loos so that the more likely buyers will get a better experience? or maybe they just want all the monies. all of them.

apparently it was a fight til the bitter end too, as I rode in a basket on the floor for a while before he finally found a 4 seater car. safety was sooooo overrated back in the day.

my father had to give his up when I was born, so it's been a while. he remembers it very fondly though. he says the Lucus ignition is to be avoided.
  21. got a couple photos of it?
  22. that's a huge milestone. not sure either of my MJs would make a 4 hour trip.
  23. a lot of junkyard seats will adapt to our floor brackets using creativity and 1" flat or square steel tube. can't say for sure about the late model XJ, but plenty of guys have done it when they did a full 97+ conversion. you should be able to find some info if you focus on finding complete conversions.
