  1. planning on being there on sunday the 1st exact time has yet to be determined by I'm guessing early afternoon. looking forward to it!
  2. absolutely. it takes a lot of geometry to get the gears to mesh properly.
  3. awesome! I love rare parts! with any luck I'm going to those same denver junkyards (for KJ parts though) where is your trip report and pics?
  4. just because they have the same tooth count doesn't mean that the individual teeth are the same shape.
  5. 13:46 is the tooth count for a certain size axle. but axles can big bigger/smaller and need different tooth counts in order to fit the space available. other axles might have a 11:39 tooth count which comes to 3.545 which is rounded up to 3.55 4.09/4.10/4.11 are the same sort of thing: 45:11, 41:10 and 37:9 respectively.
  6. watching a lot of "because science" lately.
  7. haha, that's a lot of stuff on your windshield
  8. I've thought about making some sort of metal adapter to easily allow use of another vehicle's housings. I've dreamed for years about grabbing a bunch of different taillights from a junkyard and trying them on an MJ bed, but the last couple times I was in a 'yard with an MJ bed, I was too exhausted to remember to do it.
  9. I've been thinking about the whole "fav album" thing and have come to realize that no band that I've discovered in the last 20 years is anywhere on the list. It's not a lack of good songs all piled together, but rather it's a combination of being too poor to buy a ton of CDs and the new platforms like Spotify where it's pretty much always on shuffle. So here are some from back in the day I guess. I'll try to avoid compilation albums (Live albums still count) anything by Collective Soul Led Zep 1-4 most of the Beatles AC/DC - Live Santana - Supernatural Beastie Boys - License to ill Metallica - S&M and Load/Reload Stone Temple Pilots - Core The Essential Canadian Brass Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue Bob Seger - Live (whichever one was recorded in Detroit) Eric Clapton - From the cradle The Blues Brothers soundtrack Doors - LA woman Garbage - Absolute Garbage
  10. the 91 dealership brochure disagrees with your eliminator. Buckets came standard with Eliminators.
  11. well, then there goes that theory. lol.
  12. all MJ years had buckets available. someone can correct me if I'm remembering this wrong, but I think only the Eliminator package came with buckets-only, no bench. Everything else would have a bench standard and buckets as an option. there's no need to limit yourself to MJ buckets unless you're doing a restoration. there are hundreds of Jeeps/trucks/cars in the junkyards around you that can donate their seats to your MJ.
  13. specifically those were: a ground right by the fuel pump, a big general dash ground right to the battery, and a new block-to-battery ground. next up is a fresh ground for the blower motor. brand new copper wires are a great path for electricity. old painted sheet metals, corroded wiring, self tapping screws, etc... not so much.
  14. without knowing any specifics, I can tell you that more grounds is always better. I have added at least 3 to my old 88 so far just to make the thing work right.

    owners manual

new ones are available if you can't find a used one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Bishko-OEM-Maintenance-Owners-Manual-Bound-for-Jeep-Comanche-1988/273446646817?fits=Year%3A1988|Model%3AComanche&epid=519294459&hash=item3faab0b421:g:kxsAAOSwrhNceOW8
  16. couldn't quite make the corner I guess.
  17. honestly I wouldn't touch the innards (aside from pulling the valve cover for a quick inspection). the cause of the running rich isn't likely an internal issue.
  18. see my post in the pub. a bunch of us are looking to get together near Pueblo for a trail ride.

    Dyno run

feel the burn seriously looked like a lot of fun
  20. what are the compression, leakdown and oil pressure numbers?
  21. I'm totally down for that.
  22. anything that's not the factory MJ/XJ arm is better for tire clearance. It's that dang lip on the side of stock arms that's just a lug grabber
  23. how long does it run before dying? are you absolutely, 100%, super-duper certain you got all of the factory XJ harness grounds re-grounded?
  24. be prepared that you might need to wait in a line (hopefully a digital line rather than physical) just to get into the land. Disneyland just doesn't have the crowds that are ever-present at Disney World. If word got out that the land was empty, there are 10s of thousands of people already on property that can switch their plans and flood into DHS. If you feel lucky you can try and snag a reservation at Oga's Cantina and that will guarantee you access into starwarsland like a hour before. We managed to get one for a later trip when the second ride should be open.
