  1. at one point in time I owned a factory TJ center console that had a subwoofer in it. (bought it for my sister's Jeep way back when) always wondered how well it would fit an MJ, but I don't think I ever tried. like this but gray
  2. only 180,000 left to go!
  3. Jeepers are infamous for not paying attention to the tire manufacturer's recommendations. we all know there are plenty of 33x12.5s on 7" rims out there. the super important thing is to not go the other way and have a narrow tire on a too-wide rim as you can lose the bead pretty easily.
  4. are those... footprints on the hood insulation?
  5. I kinda like this one in a "my RV will tow more than your camper" sort of way.
  6. oh yeah, if you've got one of the inline bleeders, that's your ticket right there.
  7. to find the ratio you can either pop the cover (which you really should do anyways to change the gear oil) and read the ring gear, or you can hold one side still and spin the other drum around twice while counting the times the pinion spins. 3 times = 3.08 3 and a half = 3.55s etc.

    Recognize the MJ?

    those are aftermarket
  9. that just might work!
  10. thanks! than I'm glad I didn't try harder. I'll keep that in mind if I can get back to the 'yard.
  11. good haul hey, are the back area skid strips removable? I couldn't quite figure it out and didn't want to damage the ones in that junkyard 87
  12. you've already got more than I. I have the ax-15 and antilock supplements in my 89 set, but not the student reference book. 89 was the year that the AX-15 came in halfway through so that's probably why it's separate. maybe the antilock needed a supplement too because of changes?
  13. no idea. the cluster was already ripped out of the dash. someone took it, the computer, the lower dash and something in the column and didn't appear to know what they were doing.
  14. was about the only thing salvageable on the front of that 87 XJ but I couldn't figure out how to remove it without breaking it.
  15. kinda figured it would be. decent price for a decent looking tail
  16. I get less nauseous when the camera is stationary
  17. the KJ behaved today. 91* on the return trip from the junkyard and the engine temp needle stayed put and she never went into limp mode. guess it really was time for a new fan clutch. the AC still doesn't work when , but one thing at a time.
  18. nope. just nope.
  19. see the link in my signature there are a few writeups on the 97+ swaps
  20. I've read that 87s were more likely to get a 44. don't have any actual data though. I didn't see any ABS. everything in the pics will eventually be for sale. (except my Libby of course )
  21. huh, I thought it'd be earlier i the model year. oh well. it was still neat to see.
  22. I spent so much time and energy tearing apart the interior I almost forgot to check underneath. thankfully I didn't. the Jeep has a 242 and so has a non-CAD front axle too. it was a neat little Jeep. shame it ended up in the yard.
