so I've installed a ton of flooring over the years. never had a problem with buckling until this past week. the snap together bamboo in the sunroom has been there for over a year now. It had the proper gap all the way around, and now for some reason it's touching both the east and west walls and buckled just a bit. It's an easy enough fix (especially since the buckle is right next to the wall I laid last), but I'm still pretty mad (and confused) about it. but that's a project for another day...

how far is it from the tip of the #2 XJ leaf and the MJ main's rear bushing? i.e. how much unsupported length is there? I've been using a main leaf with the ends removed after noticing how much the main leaf arches at the tip of the #2 leaf.

yeah, the 2.5 really needs more gearing to push bigger tires around. but you'll have a smile a mile wide after you get this all together

guess I need to make a trip out there. hopefully it's still there in a week (got a family trip happening first).

It's all going to be hit or miss because we're dealing with old used springs, but I would try XJ packs with the eyes cut off and then placed under the MJ main.

3 grand for a rusty truck that's been sitting? that's a big nope from me. 1 grand? maybe. do I need a reliable transport right away? than also a nope. you could spend a small fortune getting that into daily driver status. cars don't like to sit. rusty cars especially.

I've set a new record for the MJ trailer. 2 whole 4.0s, 1 aw4, 2 242s, 2ton engine hoist, engine stand, plus some random skidplates and a half-freezer. oh, and my childhood schwinn (green with the banana seat). I guess I'm not allowed to question the strength of those frame welds ever again. I did have to leave my spare CRD bare block behind.

I'm hoping that next year I'll be able to hit up more shows. this year kinda sucks.

but it only produces extra HP if you take it on a trail as for CRD news, I picked up a transmission skidplate off a junkyard crd on this latest trip north. gotta clean it (had like an inch of sludge on it) and bend the one tab a bit, but it's rust free. I wasn't even the first to find it in the yard, but I was the first to show up with a grinder to cut that last bolt that was spinning 'round and 'round. battery powered grinder for the win!

of course not. that would make sense. but you can make a new one out of similar materials.

couple good whacks with a sledge will clearance the firewall. not sure what a shop would charge for that though.
