  1. No gearing on the build sheet huh? mom hoping for 4.56s. Attached is the best photo of the trans I can take right now, the front wheel bearing is about ready to separate and I won’t have garage space for it until next weekend so it has to wait until then to go on jack stands. Is the 4 speed in this Jeep an early aw4?
  2. 1986 Jeep Cherokee 2 door Dana 30/35, 2.5 liter engine, 3speed auto trans and unknown transfer case. Unknown build date, stickers have been spray painted black. It’s currently located in wonder lake Illinois, runs well 4x4 and trans work but it’ll be for parts. The frame is toast, nothing left on the drivers side. I will be stripping drivetrain and interior parts and scrapping the shell. Black interior in okay shape, dash is junky but workable door panels are usable.
  3. Yes What dealership I can go today lol
  4. I live about 25 minutes from mchenry
  5. Chicago Illinois, do you know of any decent longbed caps?
  6. Unfortunately I just sold it to someone local to me. If I come across another here in the Midwest I’ll let you know.
  7. Found one somewhat similar on a truck I parted out. It was a glass lite brand.

Interesting, Pete is the tint on your windows visibly different than untinted? Or do you need to see them side by side?

These trucks had an option for factory tint glass??? What are the odds of finding replacements for the glass? Someone removed the tinted windows and put in clear from what it looks like.

Bought in Hobart Indiana rowed it back to Woodstock Illinois. Damn near rust free. Little bit of surface rust on a few seams under the carpet BUT STILL HAS PAINT ON COMPLETE FLOORBOARDS!!! Not currently running story I was told was old man who owned it was driving it and it shut off on him and he never fixed it. I bought it in this condition. I Will be getting it running, clean up any remaining rust I find and just keep it nice. Plan on keeping it mostly stock. 2.5 in lift and 31s and that’s about it other than updating things like the cooling system.

1986 Jeep Comanche X originally was a 2.8 5 speed 4x4 Dana 30/35 previous owner gutted it, and swapped everything from a 96 Cherokee in and welded bed armor on it now sits as a 96 4.0 AW-4 with Dana 30/35. it’s getting a new wire harness and a bed over the next few months trying to make it pretty again Occasionally drive it but it really needs another harness sometimes it doesn’t run right.
  13. So I purchased a 1986 Jeep Comanche with a 96 4.0 swapped in. I have met an impass with a fuel issue. The 96 engine has a return less fuel system. The regulator and relief valves are in the tank on a 96 Cherokee. On an 89 Comanche (donor fuel pump/sending unit) there was no pressure relief or regulator. So as it sits there is no fuel pressure regulation going on, which has caused 3 different leak occurances. Has anyone ran into this? I’m going to Home Depot to get a brass pressure relief valve, going to try and set it to about 45 psi and t valve it into the fuel delivery line see what that does. Any help is greatly appreciated, I wanna get this thing on the road!
