  1. nice! be sure to add her to the registry and I think the mileage thread is pinned in Tech.
  2. so the choice is drive a semi-nice truck in the wintertime or part it out and send it to scrap? I'm still confused...

    Winches

I went with a Badlands 5k on my Liberty. I'm never going mudding with this Jeep and the winch is used mostly as a tool around the property so I've got no need for a bigger winch. Length of cable is the only real issue I've found and if I ever venture off the 2-track trails I'll be bringing extensions. fiber cable is lighter and safer and whatnot. steel cable is far more cut/abrasion/mud/sunshine resistant.
  4. I thought you wanted a winter driver? now you're complaining about fender damage? I'm so confused...

    Read em and weep.

    welcome to the club
  6. "factory" is a bit of a misnomer. "dealership-offered" might be more accurate. the side windows in my OG Leer are not quite as tall.
  7. short answer: because I dislike when people just come here to profit from our site and nothing more.
  8. SMS has a post in the Vendors subforum of the classifieds you can check out. (at least I think you can. can't remember what all the restrictions are for new accounts. either way with 9 more replies the entirety of the classifieds will open up to you )
  9. under the frame caps is the hardest part to properly deal with.

  15. answer: question is invalid due to no such cap on awesomeness
  16. holy crap! it ate the liner!

  18. It's like piecing together a puzzle with no box photo, no guarantee that'll all work out, and you don't even know if you have all the pieces. but we're getting close. tomorrow I should be able to fill in the remaining gaps and grout most of it. oh, and painting the flue duct for the stove. like 20 ft of it. next up is the wood trim and locating the roof bits we need.
  19. there are some links to other 97+ swap threads in the DIY link in my signature
  20. nice! about time someone invented such a thing
  21. if he used the stock driveshaft, than that part will be ok. but if you got a new one made to match the lift, it might be too long for a lesser amount. flipping the springs back under the axle will bring it down to almost stock height. if you want a 4" lift again, you'll need to buy 4" lift springs.
  22. oh, but you can do something about it. go full Jedi and use your brain when trying to move really heavy objects, not your back. meaning hand carts, cherry pickers, lifting straps, or a couple friends. man-handling axles and transmissions on your own is a sure fire way to find a weak spot in your spine one day.
