not gonna lie, that's pretty neat.

anything of that style can be bolted to the sheetmetal, but will suffer the same issues without a brace for the lower mount. if anyone reading this is simply looking for a larger mirror, 97+ XJ mirrors are bigger than the stock corner mirrors and bolt on to the same spot.

can't push the point strongly enough that aftermarket dollys can be had with brakes for that long drive down the mountains.

now I have an N scale, HO scale and a 1/24 scale. the little guys were found on etsy, the bigger one on ebay. all 3d printed. the big one doesn't have an interior or drvetrain (yet) but the teeny tiny guys have seats inside! don't know why, but they do.

tow dollys aren't insanely expensive and you'll get most of it back when you sell it.

the vehicle uhaul wants to inspect it the tow rig, not the towed rig. uhaul has never laid eyes on any rig I've towed. Uhaul dollys don't have brakes (at least none that I've seen). but you can buy a dolly with brakes. wait, are you planning on pulling the one MJ with the other MJ? I'm sure it's been done, but that sounds kinda sketchy to my ears for such a long way over the rockies.

it is exactly what I wanted. the magnet that holds the blade in place likes to hold it up against the flashlight when in my pocket.

gotta get the word out to the guys that frequent junkyards. lord knows I've seen a set or 2 over the years but didn't give them a second thought once I saw the mirrors were toast.

just think of all the useful experience you're gaining just in case you need to pull the pump during a total power outage in the middle of the night during a new moon.

frame stiffeners are unnecessary for MJs unless you're regularly jumping it or rock bouncing. and even then they aren't really all that necessary. I wouldn't even bother replacing the floor pans if they are not rusted through. just grind off all the rust and paint. under the frame cap is another story and you will want to pull it to get to the rust underneath. you can put it back, or not. I've not heard of a single person having issues because it was gone. welcome to the addiction

there are better ones out there. don't buy one because it have a lift, buy one that runs and drives great... then add your own lift.

it's a piece that goes from the top to the bottom of the door to take the stress off the sheetmetal.

hmmm.... you'd better add one to my shopping cart. next time I get anything else, I'll get that too. I think I'll go with Napa though for the member's truck I'm working on. I can get those on the drive over.
