  1. I've had Shock Top and agree that it's pretty good. Mine came with a gigantic orange slice in it so I didn't realize it had that taste already. Oh, and if you check the "Topic titles only" box, it'll search the titles of posts.
  2. I also have peeling Rhino liner (on my truck's rockers). I've seen other guys' trucks that have Rhino and it seems to be holding up, so I'm guessing there's going to be some variation due to the installer. :dunno:
  3. I dig it, even if it was purple. How much lift do you have to run those 31's? 0" It's build thread is here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1556&p=13298
  4. It was a tactical decision due to the number of week 10 BYEs. See, when your team is consistently doing as poorly as mine, you tend to get fist dibs when the new draft comes along. I don't doubt I can pick him back up. :brows:
  5. 31x10.5s on stock 15x7 Jeep rims under a stock height 4wd MJ. No rubbing at all on the street after I swapped the lower control arms for WJ arms.
  6. I made my 88 impossible to lock up except for the drivers door key cylinder. I may lose the key, but I'll never lock it in the truck. :D
  7. I totally understand. That's why I got the rollbar installed before the trip. But not once in Moab did I feel like I needed it (and I did some of the gnarlier obstacles). A good reliable braking system is paramount though.
  8. Depending on what you do, you won't need a cage. Heck, many of the trails can be tackled in stock rigs (although a lift and locker can go a long ways towards making you look like a slickrock master :D ).
  9. ...and you don't have a manual trans. At least they were able to keep it pointed straight down. I shudder to think what would have happened if they started rolling over.
  10. A 4-link may be difficult if the axle is a 78 Dana 44. http://littlekeylime.com/MrN/Spicer/img ... alfton.jpg Are these axles built up? or stock?
  11. Nice paint job!
  12. Are you planning to use the Ford radius arms for your suspension? If the front axle is indeed from a 78 F-150, it'll have the cast radius arm mounts which are a real pain to work around when converting to a different suspension design.
  13. Moab is AWESOME!!! But personally speaking, the Lion's Back is overrated. It's not the steepest, it's not the narrowest, it just happens to be right smack next to the road. The sandstone provides incredible traction. You can easily idle your truck up obstacles that you would have difficulty walking up without using your hands. It's wicked fun! The scenery is tremendous too. Beautiful country. Totally worth the 24 hour drive to get there. :D
  14. So you can't use the 99 4.0 intake? :(
  15. That's a good question. I don't know how to do that. :hmm:
  16. The diesel 'Burbs can get 20 mpg, are 3/4 ton rated, and can be had for under 5 grand. I like having the extra capability-cushion when towing. Safety is important to me. When I can finally afford to buy a hauler, it'll either be a 'Burb or (if I can float $10k) a diesel Excursion.
  17. Yes, almost all MJs came with the problem-prone vacuum disconnect (CAD).
  18. Shimming the CAD to be engaged all the time will make it exactly like a non-CAD axle. Except that you have the smaller 260 U-joints.
  19. I think the spacing is off, that's all. Probably didn't translate perfectly when it was pasted from wherever he first created it.
  20. Yay, I wish I could be spending all my money on my Jeeps. I'm broke because I'm unemployed. Although, I guess if I had a job, I'd probably still be broke. But I'd have at least one drivable Jeep, that's for sure. :clapping: This post will help you with uploading your pics to a free hosting site: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=11077
  21. Diesel Suburban. :D
  22. Well, the only insight I've got is, on the freeway, the hole in the hood of my 5" lifted 88 pulls air out of the engine compartment (which then finds its way in to the cab :ack: ).
  23. NSS cleaning how-to: http://www.jeepin.com/features/nss/index.asp
  24. put text here I added a space after the first url so you could see the pattern, but that's the format.
  25. Some good reading here: http://www.madxj.com/MADXJ/technical/te ... pgrade.htm
