  1. If you have a 2.5L, then you do not want to go with a higher ratio (numerically lower). Your truck will feel like it's suddenly hauling around 500 pounds in the bed everywhere you go. :ack: And if it's 4wd, then you absolutely must match the front axle is you ever want to use 4wd (breakage will occur).
  2. Don't sweat it. Keeps me from having to bump the thread.
  3. Interesting. I'll let our techie know about that...
  4. Keep the factory overload leaf! It doesn't affect ride quality at all, but does help control spring-wrap when in an SOA configuration.
  5. Is there something wrong with yours? or are you doing a 4wd conversion?
  6. Dana 35s can be found with either the rubber plug or the threaded hole.
  7. New thread game. Post up a pic of something that's a Comanche, but not a "Comanche". Only one photo per person per day (to give everyone a chance). Please upload the photo you find to your own photo host site if possible. I'll go first with an homage to the original Comanches. This is Comanche Chief Quanah Parker
  8. Where are you? and what parameters are you searching under?
  9. Since the front end is practically identical to an XJ, there are plenty of kits out there. Just be aware that the rear will be different. Lots of manufacturers will let you delete the rear crap and you can do your own. Pick the front end lift you want, then find a rear method to match. 31s will be more friendly to both the Dana 35 and the 2.5L engine. And for what it's worth, I blew up a Dana 35 on 30" tires on the street. :ack:
  10. Try car-part.com It's a search engine for lots of junkyards I paid $50 for my last one.
  11. I've been told that it's simply not possible. phpbb doesn't support it yet. Maybe with the next update though. :D
  12. I,m lame at pics thing but here goes  Well, you need to have after, but even then it's the wrong link. Check this thread for pic posting directions. http://www.explorerforum.com :huh???: I don't see anything there , thanks for trying to help ,as you can see I'm not very computer savey :hateputers: ,but really enjoy this forum Whoops. Wrong address pasted there (I was helping out some poor schlub with a 92 Exploder). This is the right one: http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopi ... =6&t=11077
  13. Chances are real good it's a Dana 35 rear axle. Donors can be found under XJ/YJ/TJ/ZJ/KJ Jeeps. Some are more work than others. Any one of those will need the axle stripped of brackets and new perches welded on in the MJ location. Only an MJ axle will "bolt-in". A Ford Explorer rear axle is also an option. You'll need to find out what gear ratio you have. We can probably tell you if we know your engine and trans.
  14. Around here: ~75-125 private sale ~25-200 in the junkyards (pullyourparts being on the cheaper end)
  15. 3.55 gears. If only one tire is spinning, you need to spin it around twice.
  16. And if your lights instantly go out when you turn the key, it's a bad connection somewhere along the battery cables.

Go to Lowes, buy a few gallons of green paint, paint the lawn. It'll kill the weeds and you'll have a green lawn. :D
  18. Is that a roller fairlead with synthetic rope? I thought that was a big no-no?

  21. The vent is a little plastic cap located at the top of the trans near the stickshift housing.

To the best of my knowledge, all of the weed killers I've seen state that they are not to be used on newly planted grass. The seedlings probably don't have the energy reserves to survive the onslaught of poison. Sounds to me like you really need to start over from scratch. :(
  23. I'd start by pulling off the battery cables and cleaning them and the battery terminals. It's a reoccurring issue with my 90.
  24. Never tried. But then, my aux fans seem to die when the housing cracks into tiny pieces. :shake:
