  1. I,m lame at pics thing but here goes  Well, you need to have after, but even then it's the wrong link. Check this thread for pic posting directions. http://www.explorerforum.com :huh???: I don't see anything there , thanks for trying to help ,as you can see I'm not very computer savey :hateputers: ,but really enjoy this forum Whoops. Wrong address pasted there (I was helping out some poor schlub with a 92 Exploder). This is the right one: http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopi ... =6&t=11077
  2. Chances are real good it's a Dana 35 rear axle. Donors can be found under XJ/YJ/TJ/ZJ/KJ Jeeps. Some are more work than others. Any one of those will need the axle stripped of brackets and new perches welded on in the MJ location. Only an MJ axle will "bolt-in". A Ford Explorer rear axle is also an option. You'll need to find out what gear ratio you have. We can probably tell you if we know your engine and trans.
  3. Around here: ~75-125 private sale ~25-200 in the junkyards (pullyourparts being on the cheaper end)
  4. 3.55 gears. If only one tire is spinning, you need to spin it around twice.
  5. And if your lights instantly go out when you turn the key, it's a bad connection somewhere along the battery cables.

    Lawn Experts?

Go to Lowes, buy a few gallons of green paint, paint the lawn. It'll kill the weeds and you'll have a green lawn. :D
  7. Is that a roller fairlead with synthetic rope? I thought that was a big no-no?

  10. The vent is a little plastic cap located at the top of the trans near the stickshift housing.

    Lawn Experts?

To the best of my knowledge, all of the weed killers I've seen state that they are not to be used on newly planted grass. The seedlings probably don't have the energy reserves to survive the onslaught of poison. Sounds to me like you really need to start over from scratch. :(
  12. I'd start by pulling off the battery cables and cleaning them and the battery terminals. It's a reoccurring issue with my 90.
  13. Never tried. But then, my aux fans seem to die when the housing cracks into tiny pieces. :shake:
  14. The FSM covers caster angles for lifted trucks?
  15. Yeah, definitely put a project thread together about your truck.
  16. I was just about that ask that. What about the engine makes you think it's ready for major reconstruction?
  17. One more vote for RE. Remember though that lifting is only part of the plan for running 33" tires if you plan on wheeling the truck. You'll want to look into upgrading the gearing in the axles, replacing the rear axle if you've got the Dana 35, upgrading the U-joints/shafts in the front axle (late model XJ/TJ shafts will go right in and have the bigger U-joints), and lockers, lockers, lockers. :D
  18. Depending on how bad the interference is, you could trim the skid to clear the steering. You've aligned the truck, yes? Adjusted to get the proper caster? Adjusted the trackbar so the axle is centered?
  19. Something like ~$40 for a thousand. It might be awhile before I need more though. ;)
  20. Got a picture? Are you doing any other installments at the same time? What was your caster before?

    Chopped XJ

There's always the chance that he wife was sick of the pile o' crap in the driveway and forced him to put it up for sale. "Seriously sweety, no one seems to want to buy it. I've had it on classifieds and even ebay!"
  22. Did you swap the oil pressure and temperature sending units on the engine?
  23. Do you know why your gauges died? You could probably adapt a earlier model speedo cable by swapping the plug that goes into the t-case with the older mechanical version.
  24. Check out the projects in the projects forum. There are a couple guys doing the full 97+ interior, plenty of guys doing variations of the 97+ exterior, and a few that are dropping their 2wds.
