Going down to visit my sister in GA for the week. :clapping: Should have internet, but it can be sketchy at times. MJ driveshafts are about a foot longer than XJs. But the Dana 35 Yoke should be swappable throughout any year Jeep that was unlucky enough to get that awful axle. I know there's a big difference between the various years of 351s. The Modifieds have nothing much to do with the Windsors, and the Clevelands are in there somewhere too. But I'm not entirely certain their relation to the 302. :hmm:

4.10 gears were available for both years, don't know what with though. Best to triple check this one.

I'd go with a used t-case and then sell off your current one. Flywheel is the same. And the pilot bushing should be one for a mid 70s CJ with the 304 engine. It's only $2.

Other than the lack o' Dew it doesn't sound all that bad. I love venison. :D But I imagine it means a whole lotta eating at home. Not a lot of places near me that have cow alternatives. :shake:

Welcome! :wavey: If you're new to Jeeping, the best advice I can give ya is "ask before doing". Whatever the plan, run it by the collective experience of the club members first and they'll do their best to steer you clear of any pitfalls. :thumbsup:

For $15 you can get perches from the dealership and for another 10-20 bucks you can pay someone to weld them on. You can even bolt everything together dry (nice and tight) and drive to a local welder. I've done it. The cost is insane compared to what it takes to do it right. :thumbsup: And going SOA will give 5.5-6.5 inches over your current height.

XJ perches are further apart than MJs. XJ leafs are mounted to the outside of the uni-frame, while MJ leafs are mounted directly below their frame. :thumbsup:

No one knows for sure. It's an 86, and if I've learned anything about 86s, it's that you can't reliably predict what gears they will have. :(

Actually, though 99 the XJ had high-pinion Dana 30s. 2000-01 were of the low pinion variety. :thumbsup:
