  1. See http://www.advanceadapters.com for info on what's needed. I seem to remember an exhaust issue back when I was contemplating a 302 swap. That was years ago though. :hmm:
  2. I'd go with a used t-case and then sell off your current one. Flywheel is the same. And the pilot bushing should be one for a mid 70s CJ with the 304 engine. It's only $2.
  3. Other than the lack o' Dew it doesn't sound all that bad. I love venison. :D But I imagine it means a whole lotta eating at home. Not a lot of places near me that have cow alternatives. :shake:
  4. I believe that one is the backup light.
  5. Welcome! :wavey: If you're new to Jeeping, the best advice I can give ya is "ask before doing". Whatever the plan, run it by the collective experience of the club members first and they'll do their best to steer you clear of any pitfalls.
  6. For $15 you can get perches from the dealership and for another 10-20 bucks you can pay someone to weld them on. You can even bolt everything together dry (nice and tight) and drive to a local welder. I've done it. The cost is insane compared to what it takes to do it right. And going SOA will give 5.5-6.5 inches over your current height.
  7. Looks pretty clean on the outside. Pulled up your carpet yet?
  8. XJ perches are further apart than MJs. XJ leafs are mounted to the outside of the uni-frame, while MJ leafs are mounted directly below their frame.
  9. No one knows for sure. It's an 86, and if I've learned anything about 86s, it's that you can't reliably predict what gears they will have. :(
  10. The $2 bills are the best. :D The '79 Susan B. Anthony dollar coins are a close second.
  11. Oh, it's no secret I can't spell to save my life. But Firefox's spellchecker would have caught that one for ya. Mozilla for the win!
  12. Actually, though 99 the XJ had high-pinion Dana 30s. 2000-01 were of the low pinion variety.
  13. So the Dakota axle matches the XJ perch separation distance? MJs are a different spacing than XJs.
  14. When all is said and done, be sure to share the details of how you ordered, cost, and what not so that other guys with desperate wiring situations can see what it'll take to redo everything. I'm sure you're taking LOTS of pictures, yes?
  15. Yes. But save the parts you're removing. Some guys prefer the column shifter. Especially if you've got full guages.
  16. The gold colored coins? We've got them in the US too. $1 in value. Had Sacajawea on it a few years back, now it has George Washington. Not exactly very popular with the people though. But I enjoy using them. Ya get all sorts of funny looks from the guy on the other side of the counter as he tries to figure out what to do with them. :D
  17. Yeah, no kidding. $15 to ship a lousy piece of plastic?
  18. Better is indeed better. I'd probably pay more attention to my diet though if I were in the same boat. :ack:
  19. I'm just trying to protect my fellow MJ owners. :D
  20. I didn't even get a response. :shake:
  21. You might need to ask them. I can't say for sure if they're using the same colors and what-not. But if it makes you feel any better, the resistor is technically not needed to run the truck. It was added in 1988 as a means to quiet the pump noise.
  22. :hmm: That's funny right there. :rotf: Could not resist making a special rank for ya. :D
  23. I guess that's possible. :dunno:
  24. What kit are you using for the re-wiring?
  25. Are you installing a resistor in a truck that never had one?
