  1. Yup, post a pic when you can.
  2. Thank you. For the life of me I couldn't find that pic. I'm going to upload it to my photo account right now so I'll never do that again. :typing:
  3. I extended the bumper bracket forward a bit more to make use of the available frame hole. I cut a corresponding hole to go through the frame, but now I have a 3/4" bolt holding the bumper (and my rollbar fwiw) to theframe. Try yanking that outta my truck. :D rollbar and bolt not yet installed when this pic was snapped. Oh, and I also added a splash guard to the bottom to cut down on the amount of mud being thrown up into the bedsides.

Why the heck should God perform a miracle for someone when they can just drive down the road to the hospital. :???: Should I pray for God to fix my Jeep too? Reminds me of the story where a guy is trapped on his roof during a flash flood and prays to God to save his life. Multiple people come by to rescue him but he refuses, telling them not to worry cause 'God would save him'. The guy eventually drowns and goes to heaven where he ask St Peter why God let him die. St Peter replies, "Multiple boats came by to help you, what more did you need?" Idiots. :fs1:
  5. With no guarantees of any time schedule, I can get something that big from Atlanta to Detroit. :D
  6. Never underestimate the power of corrosion and crappy factory gauges to screw with your head. :D I would test it with a mechanical gauge before losing any sleep. There might be nothing at all wrong inside.
  7. Did this issue come on gradually or quickly?
  8. You've got a SYE on your 242? Cool! Do you know what brand it is? Hack-n-tap or a real kit?
  9. MJ, XJ, ZJ and TJs all use the same brackets on the front axle.
  10. I'm running 4.10s and 33s and they work just fine. I've found the key to finding the 4.10s is to find a whole 4wd 2.5L/5-speed XJ for sale that has a blown engine or bad body rot. Some guys have found them for under $200. Be patient, but be very attentive to the classifieds like craigslist.org Buy it, take the axles, part out what's left and scrap what doesn't sell. I did this with a Bronco and made money on the deal (and got free axles). What were you needing a ZJ box for? Be sure to double check the ratios in the Jeeps you do see. Sometimes people upgrade their junk.
  11. Better late than never.
  12. They had stand-ins for both the MJ and the SJ. The burning rigs are not the same ones that were driving. The other thread has the photos I snapped of my TV on pause.
  13. This should help you out:  http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/view ... =9&t=12734
  14. But he's got 3.07s and a stick. Whole 'nuther animal. I hated mine when I bumped up to mere 30s. :fs1:
  15. Yup. That's part of my plan. Then I'll just add in some flat sheetmetal to create the look.
  16. What size tires are under the MJ?
  17. Is there something wrong with your current four-oh?
  18. My 88 generally doesn't show over 25 psi at any time. Could be the gauge, sender, or the 200k miles on it. Don't know, don't care. As long as it isn't 0psi :ack: (happened twice now, once from the rms leak and once due to a fram oil filter :fs1: ). I'm not saying yours couldn't be better, but it's possible that you're over-thinking it. :D
  19. On an XJ or TJ, yes. On an MJ, no. We have a much longer wheelbase and it lessens the angles of the U-joints. A SYE is still a good upgrade if he can swing the cash. He will need a slightly longer driveshaft though.
  20. Gears gears gears and gears. Hunt down some MJ/XJ axles with 4.10s in them and let the happiness begin. :D
  21. The only relation I've ever heard of between the RMS and oil pressure is from my 88. After my RMS blew and drained most of the oil out of my engine on the freeway, the oil pressure went to 0 when I stopped at the next light and the engine went to idle. You might get lucky and only need to clean up the electrical connection at the sending unit. Is your engine still spewing oil out the back?
  22. Last time I heard of a similar event it turned out to be a problem in the big vacuum line that runs to the brake booster.
  23. Yup. You'll need a cluster from a 90 or older MJ/XJ. 87-90 are the most direct fit, 86 and older require a bit of swapping the speedo cable clips.
  24. Is your oil pressure gauge accurate?
  25. What year is your truck? What year Cherokee did you get the new gauge cluster from?
