  1. Near the top of the threads, over on the left, you'll see: "Subscribe topic" and "Bookmark Topic". If you want email updates if someone posts, click "subscribe". If not, you can click "bookmark". Now when you go to your "User Control Panel", on the left you'll see "Manage subscriptions" and "Manage bookmarks" which keep track of them all.
  2. If the front axle has the CAD, and the CAD is functioning properly, and the t-case shifter linkage is properly aligned (meaning it's actually in 2wd, not hanging on to 4wd), then the front driveshaft should not be turning when in 2wd. :D
  3. The stock drag link is reasonably beefy. :dunno: It's that stupid tierod that won't stand up to a swift kick.
  4. As I understand it, the loping cams tend not to make good power at low RPMs (where most Jeeps spend their time). I know my 4-0 would blow up long before it hit 8-10k rpms :D

    bridge building

How far is the span? I've never built one with no rules but the building materials. There was always a limiting factor such as number of toothpicks you can use, or building the lightest bridge that can hold up X number of pounds, etc.
  6. Texas would be a bit out of my way. :D So I've arrived safe and sound. Another 12 hour ride. I'd like to say they get shorter with each drive, but not really. :shake: I get those "signup" emails too. I'll try to make it stop. I think there's a selection in the menus somewhere..... Bo, I'll give ya a call tomorrow.
  7. Those were example photos. The ebay image had a Dodge taillight sitting against a wall.
  8. Automatic word censors are easy. :D Reading every single post every day to keep it all reasonably clean, not so much. :(
  9. I'd go with an Aussie locker and leave the rest as is. I still don't understand why you need a high pinion rear axle. :hmm: It doesn't change the height of the truck at all.
  10. Years ago my stereo was lifted while the truck was at the shop. Inside job. He lifted the key from work, came back at night to thieve my stuff, then returned the key the next day. He might have gotten away with it except that he didn't break anything. Did he think I wasn't going to notice the radio missing when I came to pick up the truck? Never did figure out what was going through his head. :hmm:
  11. By "HP" are you referring to a High Pinion axle? With 30" tires, your Dana 35 should be fine left stock. I would never condone spending any money on a Dana 35 to "upgrade" it. There are more weak points than the shafts and it's wasted money.
  12. Don't waste the effort replacing them. Rip them out and cap the one that comes out of the engine. Then shift the CAD permanently. Then 4x4 will always work when you want it. There are a few ways to do it, here's one: http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/view ... 636#p21636
  13. Going down to visit my sister in GA for the week. :clapping: Should have internet, but it can be sketchy at times. Even worse if the neighbor figures out how to lock their wi-fi. :D At the very least I'll be out of the loop all tomorrow due to the 12 hours of driving. If anyone has problems signing up or knows someone who is, Qui Gon-Jinn should be able to handle it. I've increased our anti-spam security for the time being and it might cause a few temporary headaches. :hateputers:
  14. Slaughterhouse is awesome! two thumbs up.
  15. MJ driveshafts are about a foot longer than XJs. But the Dana 35 Yoke should be swappable throughout any year Jeep that was unlucky enough to get that awful axle. As to driveshafts, you can get your re-tubed if the ends are in good shape. Oh, and welcome! :wavey: Be sure to check out rule #2: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1239
  16. On my 3 week trip out to Moab, I gave up on the radio after the first day. :D Maybe it'd be better if I had fixed the A/C so I didn't have every window open. :shake:

    Pirates

Oh yeah. Check his wiki page. I've only even heard of 2 and one of those was something I caught on tv just the other day. Dang was it bad. I think it was a french movie. The english was most certainly dubbed in. Seagal's voice didn't even sound like it was Seagal doing the dubbing. :shake:

    Pirates

I believe we're hitting a wall with the international laws of the open seas. Apparently we can't just blow a random ship out of the water if we think they're pirates. :dunno: And non-military ships aren't allowed to carry weapons or something like that. Truly a frustrating debacle. And speaking of frustrating debacles, who the heck keeps giving Steven Seagal the lead roles in these craptastic movies the last few years?
  19. "Id est" meaning "that is" or "in other words ", is commonly abbreviated "i.e." I love the interweb. Ask and ye shall receive. :D
  20. Yup. If you can afford the costs, it only makes thing better. For a lot of lift, you will need a longer rear driveshaft.
  21. Miss Comanche:
  22. A 90 with the high output 4-0? I'm guessing he just doesn't know what the difference between an HO and a Renix. :dunno:
  23. I know there's a big difference between the various years of 351s. The Modifieds have nothing much to do with the Windsors, and the Clevelands are in there somewhere too. But I'm not entirely certain their relation to the 302. :hmm:
  24. Wait, what do you need the trans for?
  25. 4.10 gears were available for both years, don't know what with though. Best to triple check this one.
