  1. nice. is she really as clean as the photo implies?

    WTB - Bench Seat

seat belts are slightly different. Your bucket truck won't have the third belt, and the bucket belt female sides may not go through the holes in the bench very easily (they are in a sheath that bench belts don't have). but the seats themselves will interchange readily. just need a 13mm ratchet.
  4. Anyone know of a good video on proper weld preparation? I can't seem to find one that shows how to prepare the materials. :dunno:

    she's a beaut!

  7. all depends. once you exceed 6", you should seriously consider one. If nothing else it's a very good strength upgrade. But as long as you get a driveshaft of the proper length, you can get by without a SYE.
  8. they are more than a mile higher up in the atmosphere than you. the mountains are always much cooler than the lowlands.
  9. oops, missed that part. although I went in late May/early June and some of the state parks were still snowed in. check out the rocky mountain trip planning forum.
  10. they never worked in any of my trucks. usually the problem stemmed from corrosion inside or behind the lighter itself. I bought heavy duty aftermarket versions from the auto parts store.
  11. Colorado has TONS of great trails! Problem with this time of year is figuring out which of them is passable and which has 10 feet of snow. :dunno:
  12. hey Rob, couldn't you just leave the door to the house open? I mean, there will be a transition period during the initial warm-up, but after the garage is fully insulated, couldn't you just treat it as an extension of the house during the project build? :dunno:
  13. if you own a 31k MJ and modify the crap outta it, you no longer have a 31k MJ.
  14. the key is to use lots of ambient light. no flash. using a tripod and the camera's timer would definitely help with eliminating any shakiness. Use the Macro setting if the camera has one (helps with close up images). Remember that you can crop the images afterwords, but rotating is much harder.
  15. can't spill propane. :D

we'll miss ya, but work is a good thing, yes?
  17. the new paypal ID is: comancheclub@hotmail.com I'm getting an 86 Jeep/eagle accessories brochure and a FourWheeler article that was made into a brochure to hand out at dealerships. when I get them, I'll have every MJ dealership brochure that I know of. :D I don't scan them anymore though. I've found that the digi camera produces a much better picture than my scanner. :dunno:
  18. thanks guys. All monies donated will go to fees, stickers, aka something ComancheClub related. I'm currently snagging a couple MJ brochures off of ebay. photos will be up as soon as I receive them.
  19. very slowly. tack it in place, let it cool. weld an inch, let it cool. weld another inch in a different spot, let it cool. etc.
  20. yup, a 2" lift can be done with minimal parts and come out ok. brake lines, shocks, etc will still work fine.
  21. feel free to add some sort of truss. you can make the innards indestructible, but still lose parts to axle tube deflection. :(
  22. also, be prepared for problems to pop up. lifting a rig changes the geometry of the suspension systems and worn parts or the wrong parts can cause vibrations or steering issues to raise their ugly head.
  23. when it is finished, someone can plop it into excel and snap a screenshot of it. :dunno: but we still need more data. and clearing up discrepancies is key.
  24. That's an incredibly bare boned 3 inch "kit". add to that longer lower control arms, longer track bar, longer brake lines, and longer sway bar links. AALs (add-a-leafs) will make the rear leafs stiffer. the longer versions are better than the shorter ones. whether or not that makes them "rough" is up to the driver.
