as you found out, 85 is too low. 87 is the minimum required octane. :thumbsup: You should be able to dump in a can of octane booster into the tank to get back to the proper rating.

Are you referring to the floor brackets? They are the same between the bench and buckets.

If you're referring to the multifunction stalk (that does turn indicators and ipers), it doesn't actually control the lights directly. It pushes/pulls on a long rod that runs down the steering column to the switch located down near the base. The rod in my 88 wasn't fully pushing on that switch and so for the longest time after I bought the truck, I had no highbeams. :(

I would shift the CAD over permanently, pull the vacuum hoses and PT bulb (and the shift bulb), and bask in the knowledge that I know more than my truck knows. :D

I don't remember anything about a change in t-case output spline counts over the years. Are you adding any lift? changing axles?

do you hear a click noise when you switch from high to low?

While I guess it's possible, I didn't experience any funny noises and I trimmed mine flush with the rubber bushing. :dunno:

I've gotten fairly close I guess. It's maybe 18" from the front of the control arm crossmember to the t-case skid.

check that your track bar is nice and tight.

Since I'm stuck up in Michigan till Easter, I might need some help from our Georgia members. The guy is trying to part this beauty out. :fs1: When I emailed asking about buying the truck whole, he said "parts title. parts only". Is there such a thing as a "parts title"? Or is it just a salvage title? Is a salvage title different in Georgia? Here In Michigan it isn't a deal breaker. The truck is 2wd, so it's not like there's a ton of money to be made off it. plus I'd be happy to just leave the drivetrain with him. I'd be replacing most of it anyway. truck seems to be in Dallas GA.

sure. someone come over to the house and help me finish up the rear axle swap, the brake booster/master swap, fix that engine or swap it out, install the new gas tank, and then haul it and me to some dirt. :D Til then, driveway shots (sans flares and 33s) are all you're getting. :(
