  1. Sometimes( but not always) water under the carpet will start to stink. If you peel back the carpet a bit in the front and the rear and smell something, then you might want to plan on pulling the whole interior. If you don't smell anything and don't feel any dampness in the underpadding, then you may (or may not) be ok.
  2. I dunno. I'm pretty talented when it comes to screwing things up in the computer. :D
  3. well, don't look to me if you want something made from code. :D
  4. During my 3 week excursion out to Moab, I listened to the radio for maybe all of a couple hours on the first day. It became painfully obvious that, with all the windows down (so I didn't succumb to heat stroke), the radio just couldn't overcome the wind noise. :dunno: i guess that's what I get for swapping the amps into the Dakota. And when on the trail, I listen to the engine/suspension for new noises. Maybe it's just me, or maybe it's that I used to drive hundreds and hundreds of miles to go fourwheeling in my only means of getting home. :dunno: In the van or the Libby, I tend to alternate between Sirius radio's blues channel and old school rap.
  5. I think so. Qui Gon-Jinn is our tech guy. but I haven't heard a peep from him in quite a while now.
  6. What's a "widget"?
  7. Still not understanding what it is you're looking for. :dunno:

    hauling firewood

I wish I snapped a shot of the 86 (Big Ton) when the bed was overfilled with dirt (yard? half-yard? whatever it is). the rear was firmly on the bumpstops and the front had an inch to spare. :D drove it 4 miles home that way. funny thing is that it accelerated about as fast as it does empty. :rotfl2:
  9. I can find 3.55 8.25s all day long for under 150. heck if you were closer, I'd sell you my extra. thought about the front driveshaft yet? Will it work being 1" shorter?
  10. fired it up yet? any video? I bet it's loud. :D
  11. It's a very tight fit. some thought needs to be given to clearance with the old mech fan pulley. All of my truck's mechanical fans turn all the time too.
  12. I set a fresh moisture absorber in the cab of the GA truck.

always nice to see an MJ earning its keep. :D
  14. the condenser on my 88 leaked when I bought it. eventually i got a replacement from JCW.com and found a coupon from a local business on a R-134 conversion. the coupon covered evacuation and recovery of the (non-existant) R-12 coolant and I just paid them a bit extra to install the new condenser. Convert to R-134 while you can! it'll be cheaper down the line when the system springs another leak.
  15. how much you lookin' to spend? quality fans aren't exactly cheap. and what brought up thoughts of converting? any heating problems?
  16. The overload leaf on an MJ is huge and very beefy. I just can't understand how a longer perch will work better than that leaf. :dunno: But I haven't seen any hard evidence either way. My experience is that it's the upper 2 leaves that twist and bend like a sonuvagun.

    Tiger Woods

I might watch it... ...after it's made into an auto-tune remix video on youtube. :clapping:
  18. dang it. I thought that front page had been fixed. guess I'll put that on the ol' to-do list.
  19. Big Ton/Metric Tonne MJs will have 5 total leaves in the packs. a photo of yours would help to confirm.
  20. The photo or the truck? :D
  21. Florida. :D I'm in Orlando for the week, so of course I have to check the local classifieds. for you guys, of course. :rotfl2:
  22. are the branches and debris included? can I bring my own air for the tires? or is that extra? 1959 WILLYS JEEP 4X4 I HAVE ORIG MOTOR&TRANS ALSO HAVE REBUILT MOTOR& TRANS&TRANSFERCASE NEW CLUTCH PRES PLATE THROUT BER REBUILT STARTER 12VOLT HAVE ALL PARTS TO PUT BACK TOGETHER $2000.00 CALL BILLY Why is it that people can't be bothered to clean up a Jeep for photos? get a broom!
  23. I added a second main leaf to my leaf packs (with the eyes cut off) and have had no real spring wrap issues. Spring perches are stock ford (sorta). Hellcreek makes an AAL that replicates this and comes with the hardware (center bolt and longer leaf clamps). Ford Explorer main leafs can also work (had one in my 90, but it was SUA so I'm not sure how it compares).
  24. how's your alignment?
  25. Barring any new info, that leads me to believe that the weak link (that the braces support) is the XJ brackets. MJ brackets could never snap off.
