  1. Try adjusting the throttle cable. http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/Transmission_and_Transfer_Case/Transmission_Throttle_Cable_Replacement.htm
  2. I think this is correct for your 89? Unless you really have an uber-rare 99 MJ..
  3. Or rat's nests and other debris blowing out the tail pipe..
  4. There's no easy way to know when to cut out or not hack wiring until you physically trace each circuit to the distant end to determine if it's a functioning circuit or not. PITA maximus, but it's really the only safe way.
  5. Meh. Moabs are passé now......
  6. To open the service valve you turn it cw. Check out the below for instructions on filling. If the valve is shot, I have a used pair, suction and discharge that fit your compressor that are in great shape if you need them, w. o-rings too. http://www.aa1car.com/library/ac_recharging.htm https://comancheclub.com/topic/50780-ac-r12-to-r12a-refrigerant-recharge-results/
  7. They are used as support brackets that tie in the factory transmission cross member on each side of the frame.
  8. I'd clean up this: " PO had a wiring mess with lots of splices, external stereo amp, fog lights and have not purged excess wiring since none of those items are being used anymore" mess first.
  9. A seller had a pile of suspension parts from a 91 with the factory "off road" option package left over after a lift and long arm conversion. These parts are listed for sale. I saw these brackets in the pile and didn't know what they were at first, so I asked. Clear as mud?
  10. Everything is geared to air/fuel ratio to the cylinders to best satisfy the emissions regs in fashion at the time of vehicle manufacture. The cheapest way for the manufacturers of fuel injected vehicles to comply is to change the fuel pressure first, then if more change is needed, increase/decrease injector flow and set the A/F ratio that best satisfies the emissions regs.
  11. The belt was stretched on by some PO and it's too short (if the OP loosened all the necessary bolts to swing the PS pump all the way). Cut the thing off, measure it, then but a new one slightly longer that fits correctly. Then buy a spare, it won't break the bank. Why would you want to keep a too-short belt?
  12. Yep. Never messed with them so I didn't recognize them. Thanks Adam.
  13. They are supposed to be p/o the MJ "Off Road" package.
  14. This guy has been listing junky MJ tail lamps on Ebay for stupid prices for a long time. What's scary is people are buying them.
  15. Then cut it off, measure, and go from there.
  16. If the p/n given, 52003652, is correct in the Ebay ad, this is for the Renix 23.5 gal. sending unit, not the tank. However, there are still plenty of decent aftermarket MJ tanks still available in all sizes for not much money. Can't understand why anyone would swap in something different..
  17. I use the old school 3/8" speed handle wrench to operate the spare tire winch only - works great for that. Good idea on the telescoping lug wrench. Gotta get me one of those. EDIT: Just ordered from Amazon. Thanks.
  18. Good to see you're still home.
  19. The 91-92 Bosch fuel pump has the same pressure vs. delivery as the 00-01 pump, so it will work, not should work. The 00-01 injectors are actually smaller than the 96-99 injectors I'm running; the 96-99 injectors have more fuel delivery at the same pressure than the 00-01 injectors. I don't know what fuel rail you are running now, but you might have to use the earlier 91-95 HO rail with the regulator. You don't have to use an adjustable FPR; there are plenty of fixed GM regulators you can stick in that run at 49psi w/o vac.; I've got the p/n's somewhere. As far as the dash fuel gauge working, I'm not sure because I don't know it's resistance requirements or polarity. But there are plenty of guys over at the stroker forum running a similar setup in XJ's using the early HO fuel rails so they can use adjustable FPRs, and it's not a big problem. Or you can run an aftermarket fuel gauge matched to the in-tank HO sender too.
  20. Get rid of that kludge setup you have now and stick in a new MJ tank as above with the 91-92 fuel sender and the stock Bosch fuel pump. I have been running the late Mopar injectors with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator in my stroker at 49psi for years - the 91-92 pump handles it no problem.
  21. Knowing Stroker, I doubt there was any luck involved. He works very hard to search and source these finds.
