  1. What do I bypass the ballast resistor with, a simple wire? Yes, jumper wire across the resistor terminals.
  2. Ah, okay. Like a Schrader valve. Neat tool.
  3. How do you refill the butane?
  4. Check/clean/re-do the ground lug behind the left tail lamp. Also try bypassing the ballast resistor if still in the circuit.
  5. Did the headlight problem start after you installed the harness?
  6. I'd say a good place to start for the vibe is to take a peek at the transmission and motor mounts.
  7. Nice pics. Hope you let the rat snake live after extracting it - he's one of the good guys.
  8. The cross member on all MJ's w. the 2.5 regardless of transmission is the same p/n as the 4.0 with the AW4 crossmember. So it's not the same as the crossmember for a 4.0MJ w. a 5-speed tranny.
  9. It sounds like you have the LO and HI service valves set in the wrong positions. When charging, the LO side valve needs to be opened (stem turned cw to the stop) and the HI side valve closed ccw to the stop). When finished charging, detach can fitting from the LO side and close the valve (ccw to the stop) for normal operation.
  10. No CEL, but did you check for fault codes with the key?
  11. You're right Dirty - that is a terrible diagram. :rotf: A good switch to use is the highly visible dash POWER/COMFORT switch if you have one. Hard wire it into the POWER mode, then run the ballast resistor cutoff switch through the switch. The switch is so obvious a would-be thief would never think of trying it.
  12. Black rat snake.
  13. Will customs let you export it Stateside? Maybe it's changed, but that was no bueno when I was there. Especially RHD. Great looking car!
  14. I've got a crap load of those inlines in various sizes picked from various vehicles over the years.
  15. Nope. Engine broke a valve spring retainer in one of the cylinders so it sounds like an angry midget with a hammer under the hood. The radiator seeps from several spots, and I screwed up by putting DOT 3 brake fluid in the system when it should have been silicone based so all the cylinder seals dissolved. At this point it makes no sense to throw money at it for stock parts when the plan is to do a V8 with modern suspension and such. Makes sense, and it would be an excellent resto-mod project. The body looks fantastic in the pics.
  16. Man, I love that Olds. I forget - is she running and driving?
  17. Your video must be cloaked and locked too.
  18. Bro-in-laws are good at doing things like that. Is it an 87 4.0 Jim?
  19. Excellent.
  20. Mmmmmm, chrome. Beautiful truck............
  21. Need some pics of this new jewel Jim-san.
  22. And while you're adapting and/or training yourself just pray you never have a panic stop when someone's beside you while towing. :shake: It's not the load valve causing this. Solution? Junk the drums and convert to disk brakes.
  23. Does your XJ have the Trailer Tow option?
