Aren't those air cooled?.... As in they need the propeller and air movement?

Too big? Man, I'm 6 foot 260 lbs. I'm technically too big for my MJ's but I fit nicely in the Challenger. The Camaro..... yeah, I'm too big for that one. Nope, just the current year SRT8 cars. The only SRT10 now is the Viper...... and only Viper owners get to play on the track with those. But yeah...... it does NOT suck to be fortunate enough to have an SRT8 Grand around....... (And no, that's not my Brute in the background.....) :D

If you plan on a 4-link up front, you may find some conflict with the upper arm mounts and your new floor board...... depends on how far below the floor the new frame sits I suppose. It's initially looking like that floor is low and forward enough to be in the way of where you'd want your upper arm mounts to be.

The Mustang and Camaro blind spots are definitely awful....... but I gotta disagree about the Challenger. When we went to Vegas and participated in the Drive SRT Racing Experience (comes with the purchase of our SRT8 Grand) I decided to make it a full Mopar experience and rented a Challenger RT for the week we were out in Vegas. I absolutely LOVED that car. Had an absolute blast driving it and never once had a concern over seeing around in traffic or lane changes. Yes, big blind spots, but it's windows are bigger than the Camaro and Mustang. Drove the Challenger, 300C, Charger and Grand Cherokee SRT8 vehicles on the racing track, road course, autocross course. The Charger was the worst to see out of and consequently the worst handling. Bad pushing (understeer) in the corners. Challenger was too easy to break the rear traction loose on corners. The 300C was simply amazing in all regards. And of course the Grand was far and above the other cars. Amazing road course SUV. But I digress........ :D

Since you've begun building the floor before having a frame in place.... Am I to assume the frame will be a traditional ladder design and the body will sit bolted on with body bushings between?

Friggin' CarFax ad is covering the VIN entry field. Can't get past it. Anyone?

2-3 am....... Highway W.O.T. runs and empty Kohl's parking lots around the medians and light pole foundations. Frequently...... :D Yeah, I gotta say, even I would be a whole lot nervous with that HP. Our SRT8 Grand Cherokee has 470 hp and it's PLENTY up here in the thin Colorado air.

Both of those hoods fit like absolute crap. Not even remotely worth the money. I purchased a Dominator hood. Garbage.

S10 Swing Away Spare Tire Carrier???
yellaheep replied to pettus253's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
No, you gotta do a whole lot of cutting........ cut off the wheel mount bracket and other bits. Then shorten the ends a few inches and weld on the angle iron for the hinge pins. Fab up the latch mount. That sort of thing. -
S10 Swing Away Spare Tire Carrier???
yellaheep replied to pettus253's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
As in to use as a tire carrier on the back of the MJ? Yikes. There are better ideas out there..... as in a hinge mounted to a sturdy off road bumper........ I've seen bitchin' tube doors made outta S-10 tire carriers for XJ/MJ's......... -

And how are you NOT finding MJ's in Texas???? I surf SearchTempest.com all the time and there's always MJ's out that way. http://dallas.craigslist.org/ftw/cto/4522094193.html http://easttexas.craigslist.org/cto/4508988355.html

Cherokee rear leaf packs are much shorter than the MJ leaf packs. No just bolting them in.... would take fab work and it would lengthen the wheel base (locates the axle farther back)...... and destroy departure angle given that the shackles would essentially be out past the rear bumper...... This is what a set of MJ leaf packs looks like under an XJ....... required custom shackle boxes and mounts out back. Custom wheel well openings to accommodate the longer wheel base.

So...... whaddya do with a janky old '57 Chevy 4dr wagon and a '68 El Camino that aren't worth restoring? You cut them up into this apparently. Oddly...... I really kinda dig it. Like a real-life Car Toons magazine car, or a Rat Fink drawing. Has a 427 in it.... with a blower..... I bet it does wheelies. Especially with tongue weight... I'm thinking it needs a hole in the hood, a tunnel ram, topped by an injected 6:71 blower so that it all sits just a touch higher than the roof...... :D

yellaheep replied to drcomanche's topic in Craigslist/Marketplace/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
The bonus being........ it's NOT an '86. Not with sporTruck stripes. Likely an '87-'90.
